Heilung have a way of waking up a part of the soul that's been sleeping inside of us, waiting for the day it's awoken again. It's primal, ancestral, it's emotion we have all long since forgotten. Heilung isn't a band, they're a journey back in time, an experience. They're phenomenal 😭

The soul remembers, even if we don't. We have lived many lifetimes with Shamans and Ritual. Proper ritual is trance. The soul remembers our connection to the Mother. Anoana, is an aspect of the Pagan understanding of the oneness of all life and the Mother's love for all living, is born under an eclipse announcing her as a magical being, a protector of all life. Her spirit unites with the spirit of the musk ox at the end, not in death, but in celebration of life and the oneness of all things.

It’s her merging with her spirit animal. In the beginning of the video she sees the musk ox out in the distance and when she as an adult sees the vision she runs towards it to merge with it. It’s what was explained to me but your vision of what is happening is just as valid because their music is about what it brings out in the individual.

By far my favorite reaction to this video. Your excitement is palpable and your energy is infectious. Watching the video about 100 times now, I feel like the infant Anoana represents the promise and possibilities of new life. Child Anoana is the wild unbridled joy of discovery and exploration... education through experience and finding your place. She challenges the moose, who basically says "Not now girl, you're not ready." She finds her spirit guide in the musk ox, who nurtures and supports her in her growth. Adult Anoana is beauty in nature, fierce strength and power. The fully realized Nature Guardian. She returns to the musk ox and charges him, combining in spirit and reaching her perfect, complete self.

05:35 You're the first reactor to this song I've seen act SO appropriately to the imagery. I don't know if any of your commenters said but this image is powerful because it has a MASSIVE amount of symbology found in Germanic, Scandinavian, Celtic and many other cultures. A Goddess of Nature is being born with the blessings of the Lord and Lady with The Spiral represented in the background of this image and essentially above the birthing mother (roof of the hut). The Spiral is everything. It is Life, Death and everything in between. I appreciate the power it had over you.

A year late seeing your reaction. But with something of a shamanic practice myself, I can say that you understand what is going on here much more deeply and truly than most reactors. The way they leave you at the end wondering what really happened is genius. If you look for them, there are videos around on KZbin that explain where the lyrics come form, the significance of the charm the girl finds in the nest and similar information. There are elements here that people don’t even realize. The horn head dresses appear in the archeological record circa 11,000 BCE at the site of Starr Carr in Yorkshire, England. The use may be older but horn does not preserve very well if the conditions are not favorable. Great reaction. Glad I watched it.

According to previking believs they had very special gifts: hamnskifte (= the ability to change appearance), age shift, talking to animals etc The previking time and it's religion in nordic countries is much more female directed than the religion in the later years (viking gods like Tor and Oden... )

No, no, no... It is Kai, the one doing the male vocals in this specific production. He's a practitioner of neo-shamanism. As for all their lyrics, none of the band members knows exactly what they mean. Their lyrics are taken from archeological finds, scriptures and objects from the bronze age to the viking age, not only from scandinavia, but also from all of europe during this time-period. And Maria, the female vocalist, have said in several interviews that they're seeing Kai as the spiritual guide in the group. Chris has a background in folk music and folklore, so he's the one responsible for all the instruments and productions. He's usually a pretty quiet guy even in interviews, but he's basically the engine of the band.
