Is it possible to do any aikido technique from a medium or close range? Medium being a non step arms length to make contact with the weapon and close range being where close enough to clinch . Tori attacks with weapons in aikido are all long range meaning having to step to make contact . In videos I’ve seen of stabbings with kitchen knives or using machetes the movements for the attack are very short and snappy . Could you explore this further? Thank you. I really think your the best aikido KZbinr who doesn’t make aikido more than it is and you explain the purpose of techniques well.
