Harsh climate, harsh and majestic music. You feel the music of different national cultures well. You play as if the northern nature of Finland is outside your window. It touches the soul. Thanks.

Precisely my emotional response. It's Sibelius on sentimental overdrive. In the best way possible.

@@ianwilliams2632 I completely agree with you and Olga. This all still lives strongly in Finnish soul. -- But where and why did it disappear?

By 'disappear', I mean the ability and talent to express this inner sentiment.

One of the most beautiful things you've played. And the most beautiful thing in this key that I've heard other than Chopin's Nocturne #7 (op.27 no.1). What a rare and fantastic find! Those Finns man, they are someone else! All positive on your performance as well of course! The prominent ritards/pauses you did that weren't written in were tasteful and really added some anticipation with a splendid payoff. Really well done all around! 👏💯💕🤩

Great performance. I've played this piece many times myself and it seems to be quite unknown outside Finland.

As a Finn, it is hard to believe we had many of this kind of talent a hundred years ago. Now -- nothing.

It hasn't been too long since Rautavaara died. Your country is still famous to me for good music, even if only from him.

Extremely evocative and dark. Beautiful. Reminds me of the Titanic: Adventure out of Time soundtrack from 1996, but far better.

A tasteful and very interesting interpretation of this beautiful piano piece. Before this interpretation I have never paid very much attention to the piece. Maybe because of the limitations of note writing when it comes to expressing the soul of a piece? And because finns, exact as they always are, mostly play what they see, no more and no less. Well, that’s my opinion, of course. De gustibus et coloribus non est disputandum!😊 That said, having lived near the finnish seaside all my life, I find that the piece is more a reflection of an internal than an external world, as I really do not see the seaside in it. Or maybe Finland in general, but not especially the seaside? And I certainly can hear a very finnish mood. And an incredible understanding of it. Bravo!
