Indeed they were. If I remember correctly they had decent infantry, decent cavalry, and a great skirmishing department. I think I remember Pontic "Heavy" Cavalry being javelin cavalry that could beat Equites handily (although that isn't too difficult). In my latest campaign they took over Asia Minor, the better part of the Balkans, and half of Northern Africa. I'm in the process of evicting them from Northern Africa, but they have five full stacks guarding a single city west of Egypt. It is nigh unassailable. So I've contented myself with holing up in Egypt with 2 armies and sending another to rampage across Asia Minor while I raise additional forces in the very suitable Egyptian facilities.

Why did CA make Pontus color yellow? Egypt is the faction that suits yellow... I really miss their pre-release color... Anyways, if CA wants to push color yellow for them, they should atleast gave them bronze instead of yellow.... When I think of Mithridates Army, color yellow... Cheesy!

my favourite army for pontus is 4 levy pikemen (first line) and 4 bronze shields (main body) the rest of the money can be invested on cav or slingers. You should give it a try XD

Your archers was the reason why he made a tactical mistake in the beginning. He got intimidated by your skirmishing power, in trying to find a solution, overstretched his troops. From there it was a domino effect. The fact that he also had no cav to soak up your cav was a bad omen.

Pontus is actually very similar to Colchis, except having pikemen and Chariot, but Colchis has additional and stronger Spearmen unit together with what Pontus has, the rest is pretty much similar and same level

How do you move all of your formations so precisely and so quickly? When I play the AI i have to pause to dress my ranks and keep formation. You seem to just tell everyone at once to advance and they stay in a nice formation without turning at an angle, etc...

Is anyone still having some issues with replays? because I though CA fix it but my replays, some of them, continue to become corrupted...

All replays work for me as long as they are replays from a game in the current patch. Once the patch updates that replay won't work the same.

No they nerfed shock cav cause what they did to their melee defence. It makes sense but too many men die now when pulling out. After extensive testinging melee cav have turned the tides a good charge or not

Well if it is heavy melee cav maybe so. Light units like iberian cav, celtic light cav, ect still get owned by shock cav I think.

I have never played any of the civ games. I did see a trailer for the civ beyond earth game. Looked interesting. They only non Total War plans I have for my channel right now is a review and possible play through of the Homeworld 1 and 2 remakes being made by Gearbox. That is only if they allow me to make footage of their product.
