Yeah, you can't really say that about the op, because you don't know him/her, so you can't know what situation the op is in for sure. However, I do know what you mean, like most people DO have good teachers and they just don't give a fk, even if most people actually had Walter as their chemistry teacher, they still wouldn't care. People expect education to be constantly like in the movies, "I need to be entertained to be able to learn", that's total BS, learning is hard work to make you a more skillful person, yes teachers can be inspiring and make it fun for you from time to time, but if you don't have a good attitude you'll never get anywhere in life, like did Bill Gates need any teacher to "enlighten him" to do what he did in computer science? no, he educated himself. People these days act like things in movies should happen to them ALL THE TIME, when the reason they can't learn is they don't value intellect, they aren't willing to do hard work and learn. The fact is they are entertainment junkies, and the only reason they think something is of value to them is by looking if it is of "immediate entertainment value" to them, in this case, this scene was entertaining, but right after the teacher did this thing, they'd go back to texting about retarded things to their "cool" friends while Walter explains in depth how the chemical process takes place, in the end they still learned almost nothing about chemistry, later in life the most they have gotten out of it was "oh, I think I remember my high school teacher trying to make mayonnaise while I was texting about the Kardashians to my friend, omg the Kardashians did this......"
@khatack
@khatack 6 жыл бұрын
+Ryder Washington Based on your grammar, I'd wager that your teacher kinda sucked. That or you sucked as a student quite a bit. Either way, it's painfully obvious that in your case, learning did not happen.

Actually even in the show there’s a very wide contrast between the teacher he was (rather feeble, unmotivated, by-the-book, rather awkward and methodical- and we all know all those traits amount to a whole lot of boredom and lack of attention in the class), before all the meth business and babysitting Jesse, and this scene (aka after his meth cooks), where’s he’s more carefree, happy, motivated and confident.

And we use Blue food coloring on the mayonnaise, because that's my brand. I make blue chemicals. If my former student, Pinkman made this, he would add chili powder, because he's a bad cook.

Imagine this show was about Walter finding his place as a teacher while dealing drugs on the side, maybe even as a lighthearted slice of life series. I think that would be sick as fuck, tho tbh it'd probably just be like Malcom in the middle

I make this stuff called ferrous acetate to turn old-school vegetable tan leather black. You soak steel wool in vinegar. It takes several weeks. But when its done it will react with wood tannins and turn them black.

I remember having to attend summer school for elementary. Not because I was failing, but because my parents wanted me to get "ahead" of the other kids. I don't remember learning anything there. We just did a bunch of projects involving moldy bread and growing small plants.

I wish they did a scene that showed Chad and his other students we see reacting to news he was the largest methamphetamine manufacturer in world history. Like in universe TV interviews or something. There was a scene scripted but not filmed for Felina. Showed Walt running into a former student when he got petrol and faked being a journalist. He paid them off to keep quiet.
