Boomerang is one of Eddie Murphy’s best movies & one of the greatest soundtracks of all time. Here comes my infamous fun facts: Prior to this movie Martin Lawrence & the late John Witherspoon were also in Talkin Dirty After Dark, Halle Berry was also in The Last Boy Scout & Strictly Business, David Alan Grier was also in A Soldier’s Story & I’m Gonna Git You Sucka & Chris Rock was also in Krush Groove. I would love for you guys to cover the following movies: Def By Temptation The Five Heartbeats Strictly Business Talkin Dirty After Dark Losing Isiah A Thin Line Between Love & Hate How To Be A Player

I'm not a nurse, but I had many friends in the nursing program in undergrad and you are telling the absolute truth. The few male students in that program got all of the attention from girls.

Listennnn.... I have NEVER seen anything like the attention those male nurses managed to get. Neither their personalities nor their looks made a difference either... It didn't matter whether they were the quiet ones, the loud ones, the charismatic ones, the tall ones, the short ones.... MOST of them had RUN THROUGH the place and (in some cases) left the women at each others' throats! 🤭😂🤭

Fun Fact: lol Something I should mention is that there is a whole “spinoff” series somewhat of this movie, also called “Boomerang” It came out in 2019 and it basically chronicles the next generation after the series of events in this movie, meaning that Marcus & Angela eventually got married and had a daughter. Jacqueline has a son (who is basically Marcus 2.0) but no one knows who his father is, and other cast members that are somewhat inspired by Marcus’s friends in the first movie. I implore that you guys watch the series , it’s really good and adds more to the whole Boomerang universe (kinda) - got cancelled after 2 seasons unfortunately but Halle Berry did executive produce the series which means that she gave her ultimate approval for the storyline lol. Robin Givens however wanted nothing to do with it. lol

@@HeitCheri Please do!!! It bares the same sentiments as the film regarding power dynamics and relationships but adds more societal issues such as racism, accusations of sexual violence, sexism and queer identity and religion to fit a more modern take focusing solely on the offsprings of Marcus + Angela and Jacqueline’s. I love watching your content and would absolutely LOVE your commentary on it, whenever you guys do get a chance to watch it ❤️❤️❤️ I think it’s still streaming on BET Plus.

My favorite line from David Allen Grier used to be “Why do you always get all the girls” I used to laugh sooo hard bc it gave highschool drama when he said it as if they weren’t adults🤣

I was there from start to finish and it was so much fun! Can you guys do a comparison of Angela and Baby from Dirty Dancing? Angela was much like Baby in how she admired Jacqueline's femininity and how she captivated men. The same could be said for Baby's perception of Penny. Penny and Jacqueline are confident in their femininity and sexuality, while Angela and Baby are both feminine, while also very conservative. They both went after the guys who typically went for confident women like Penny and Jacqueline. So, they took interest in these women and set out to get closer to them. Baby immediately told Penny she envied her in the very first conversation and Penny was rude to her in that moment and several times after. Nonetheless, Baby still wanted to help and befriend her. She talked to Robbie on Penny's behalf regarding him kicking Penny to the curb after finding out she's pregnant, much like Angela confronting Jaqueline about what she was "doing to him". They both use them to learn how to use their femininity, confidence and sexuality to get the guys opposite Gerard or Neil (The owner's grandson in Dirty Dancing). Y'all would see so many similarities between Baby and Angela.

Hey guys! Wish I had caught this live. No doubt Boomerang is one of the best movies of the 90s hands down (soundtrack absolutely contributed to status). I always agree with your take on these movies and you also make me reflect on some points I didn't initially see. Awesome!

Yes jaqueline does get more judgment because some people don't like it when women are doing the same thing men are doing i actually like her because she was upfront with Marcus about who she was to me she's very similar to another female character samantha jones from the show sex and the city
