Helderberg 4x4 Trail (Closed Down) Somerset West quick review with VW Amarok Group - Diesel Tech

We got an invite from a fellow Instagram buddy, Dust & Diesel Overlanding the night before to come and check out Helderberg 4x4 trail and decided to join & visit this one before they closed down the 1'st of August 2021.
Unfortunately parts of the trail were closed off due to severe rains this winter season & vehicle damage might occur rather easily. (They recovered such a vehicle from the day before that was dangerously close to a roll over.)
Hence we could not truly rate the trail on our fun & scenery factors Diesel Tech style as we usually do as it would actually be partially done so. Regardless we gave it a brief rating seeing that they will be closed down.
For the people that have not been to Helderberg 4x4 trails in the past, you did not miss too much, we promise.

Ek voel dieselfde Louis, maar was nog altyd nuuskurig oor the track. Nou nie meer nie. ;)

nice vid.I personally rate Helderberg 4x4 as one of my best i've done.Hope it open soon again.

Thanks Wayne. From what we understood the 4x4 section of the trail is permenantly closed since 1'st of August this year. It was not even open on the day we were there, the mountain trail section. But other trails such as Grabouw 4x4 or Honingklip has a complete different atmosphere to it than this one. You should try them out too one day. :)
