Thats bs to me, the solo isn't too mature at all, we all learn about hellen keller in elementary school, and theres nothing gorey or heavy in this solo, shes just portraying hellen trying to find her doll

@@frankielikestoflip6050 It could also mean they though it was an unfair advantage to other kids if 10-12 year olds are expected to do more cutsey stuff and she did such a moving and mature topic. I could see judges thinking emotionally deep routines should be expected of 13+.

Imo this is probably maddies best solo out of the first 3 seasons, and the reasoning is because how difficult the solo is, she had to portray a blind person who lost her doll and had to have a prop and lose it and find it again throughout the choreography, the choreography and her acting made this dance and the story behind it extremely believable

Not my favorite i feel like the concept wasn't executed well. It doesn't seem offensive, but i feel like the choreography could have been better. I get the significance of the doll but it didn't seem helpful in the dance and the whole thing kinda painted hellen keller as only someone who suffered. I think her asking skills were ok.
