@cindigoodridge6847 I don't know what you understood or not from my comment because your response doesn't sound as if it was favorable. All, I did was to reply to the gentleman, that just because she was discussing these celebrities, did not make it a forgone conclusion that she'd be as gracious & as classy as she she has chosen to be in her delivery of their stories. I was agreeing with you but I guess you didn't need nor want me to? Sorry about that. My bad. I didn't know I had to clear my response with you, and it was in bad form to agree with you. *sigh*

I had never heard of her, and never saw such classic natural beauty. Even as a child of the 60's I would recognize Black actors and celebrities, Ms. Helen Williams had that it when you look at her you knew that she had to be in the world of fashion. Thank you for your channel, as when I was growing up Black accomplishments were not readily taught in schools as it should have been and thru this channel, I'm learning more about the struggle past what I was able to see on that old black and white tv

I remember Helen like a glorious goddess gracing the covers of Ebony, Tan, Jet, and all the other POC magazines. Back then, there was no need to be in white publications because the community had their own glossy magazines with great stories, articles, and advertisements. And it was always exciting to pick up a weekly or monthly edition and see Helen on the cover or inside just gorgeously modeling. But it was her own community who forgot, left her behind and sadly erased her as the first International black model. A truly beautiful and elegant woman.

The same with muscicians, in the U.s they had to go in the backdoor of the places they performed at and in europe they were hailed as celebrities and got the full on treatment in fancy hotels. Segregation did and still does so much harm. People need to mingle to know there is no "us and them"
