Hey I am a powerlifter be careful with wearing goves as your hands can sweat then blister but for short wears you might be fine (but each to their own just do what makes you feel confidentin your lifts), there are lifting wrist wraps that help to strengthen and some have leather pads, chalks good for grip. But sounds like you might benifit from a lifting belt to help to brace your core, which in turn will help your posture and therefore your back.
