Hello everyone, a different video today where I share what I've read and what I couldn't. Yes, there are videos on books that I don't consider sharing for various reasons. If you like this video or want to see any others, just let me know. If you like this content, then consider donating a cup of coffee to me at: ko-fi.com/lifelessonsfrombooks Happy reading! (Or putting down books). Ha ha!!

Great video! I love this format a lot! I want to read Reunion now, you totally sold it for me 😉 I was gifted Tom Lake last September and I was so excited to read it (the Dutch House was one my favourite books of 2023), but... I just couldn't pass the first 50 pages. I tried the audiobook as well, and it made it worse. I wondered what I was missing because everyone was raving about it. I'm glad to find that I am not the only one. 😊

Thank you for watching. I appreciate it greatly. Unfortunately I had to put Tom Lake down. It didn’t inspire me enough to want to pick it up. I don’t mind her other books though.

I love this style of video, would really like to see more in the future! It was also interesting to hear about your language learning journey 😊 I’ve been studying French most of my life and I still sometimes struggle with reading literature in the original but it’s so worth it! This also inspired me to get to more works by Calvino, I’m Italian but definitely don’t read enough Italian literature 😮

Thank you so much. I love Italian authors. I’ve reviewed a couple of them here on this channel. I appreciate you watching and sharing your feedback. All the best with your French studies too! Happy reading! 📚😊

This was an amazing multi-review. I finished Tom Lake. I know you are not too keen for audio versions, however I enjoyed listening to Meryl Streep raconting the story more than I would have read the hard copy. The Reunion even though I haven't read it yet, reminds me of The Swimmer written by a Polish author, I don't recall his name, that was a great book as well I am looking forward to your recommendation 😀 😊. Have a great weekend! It is Mother's Day here in Canada. Cheers, Marianne

Thank you Marianne. It turned out I just couldn’t continue reading Tom Lake but I’m thinking as an audio book, it might be different. I’ll give it a go. My husband finished reading it (as we are part of the same Book Club at our local library and this was this month’s book). Maybe using another format might change my mind! Thank you for watching!

The Swimmer. That rings a bell. I’ll look this book up too. Thank you for this recommendation.

The author is Tomasz Jedrowski, and the title is Swimming in the Dark 😊

@DefaultName-nt7tk excellent thanks. I’ll try and find it. Don’t think I’ve read any books from Polish authors 🤔
