A friend blessed me with a vinyl factory gift card. And I happened to pick Patch Notes randomly without knowing what I will stumble myself into. I believe that things have a way of finding you. Your creation is one of them. I just listed to it tonight and I had to follow you up. You deserve your flowers 🌻🌻🌻

I'm so grateful for the internet for access to people like you in this world, following their instincts and making art which celebrates one's own, unique process......................so awesome to get to experience some of your magic. I may not ever get to fly on a plane again, but in my mind, the perfect trip would be to travel somewhere, with no expectations but to attend a 'live performance' by you........................................
@HeleneVogelsinger2 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much Will 🙏 ✨💜 And i'm so grateful to have met you, and the entire community. I Feel so lucky. Where are you based ? if you can't get a fly, i'll do my best to pass by near where you live when i'll go on tour, when we'll be able to travel freely again.

My wife and I live in a remote, forested area in Western Canada. Very few people - lots of nature......after decades of touring with big rock bands, I'm happy to be in a more calm, centred life. If (because we're not injected) I can never travel again - I'm ok with that. Happy to be where I am.....our tribe here is strong and vibrant........So inspired every time I see that you've uploaded a new adventure............so nice to see (hear) such passion, commitment, talent and individuality alive in you........it reminds me that there is still a bit of inspiring stuff still going on out there......

When I talk about Helene and try to describe her music to my friends, I often refer to her as the "Beethoven of Modular Synthesis". She is such an innovator. It was like she shut down the sequences, and just let the whole patch self oscillate at the end of that piece. She is a true circuit bender! ♥🌹♥🌹👏 Bravo!! Bravissimo!

Before I listen to your music, I sit in my usual meditation postion, cross legged on a comfortable cushion, centre myself and only then, press play... Today, I climbed into a hot air balloon in a fresh but warm sunrise, as the balloon lifted from the ground and the morning song of the birds rang round my periferal soundscape. Slowly, the higher I rose I began to realise the balloon had metamorphosised into a sky yacht, slowly drifting through the French alps with a gentle breeze filling the sails and wafting my hair... Up and up we slowly rose until levelling out and then slowly decending until, with the birdsong back in my ears, and not even a splash, landed on a beautiful Swiss lake surrounded by a green landscape with vast mountains all around.. gliding oh so slowly slowly, fading back to reality, my journey was over, I was at peace with all of nature and existance. Such a wonderful journey that your music inspires within me. Then I listened again watching the vid this time. Such great locations you chose. After that, I read your notes on your process of how you create your music and chose your locations to make these video's.. I expected nothing less than you described. I truly Love everything that you have produced and not only am I thankful to have found your channel, but I am so much looking forward to parts 3 and 4. Thank you.

I wanted to explain (briefly, if I can) why I called you a MASTER, on a previous video- as I believe the context will prove informative. So here I was, watching about 6 videos of your's... but I'm also a musician, so I also at times naturally hear potential for creating parts in the course of hearing music. For about 4 of these videos I kept thinking, "man... this would be AMAZING if there were HORNS in it", and on the 6th video... you pulled out that clarinet, and... YOU DID IT My mind was blown, because I knew THIS was what was needed. And then: you did it. And I was like... "HO-LEE SHIIIIIT" Long story short. You were made for music, and music was made for you. We appreciate your fits of genius :)

Just discovered your work ... and I love it! No idea why you need all the multicoloured cables ... 'patching' I do understand from early telephone exchanges and pre-digital switchers ... but watching you lean from side to side tweaking and twiddling the pots is fascinating in itself. That, and your interesting choice of locations makes for a full audio/visual experience ... thanks for that. I expect you hate it when listeners draw comparisons, but your work, in my mind, stands alongside one of my favourite Polish composer/piano artists, Hania Rani ... I'm sure you know of her. I just had a brilliant idea for a Helène Vogelsinger video game, where you roam a post-apocalyptic wasteland exploring ruined buildings and finding lost synth modules. Then you discover places with generators, where you can play ever more complex music as your system grows. It’d be like Fallout or Horizon Zero Dawn combined with VCV Rack. Have your agent call my agent! ;-)

I was trying to respond to someone unaware of the modular = real instrument. But they remove the comment. Here are my thoughts: Modular synthesis is like having to build your instrument every time. Let's pick a string instrument as an example. Not the sound, just how this is made. The instrument characteristic is the sum of simple parts: strings, body shape, materials in general, percussor type, and so on. With modular, you can pick a set of parameters to build a whatever instrument, and the fun part is that you can morph them as you wish. So your parameter can change every ms or 1 minute. Linearly? Exponential? Randomly? No-problemo. You can build a violin that rolls into an arp in response a whatever event you wish. Modular, it's fun yet complex. If you want to know more, I think you can find a large community happy to share. Stay inspired. Nothing else matter. Thanks, Helene, for your music🧡
@HeleneVogelsinger2 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for this explanation, and your kind words 🙏 ✨🧡 It can be hard for people out of the modular world to comprehend what's going on, which i can perfectly understand (remembering myself watching for the first time a modular patch in action). Thanks again 🧡 Wishing you a beautiful day and weekend. Take care
