Nice to find HVW videos here ... I remember enjoying her lessons on PBS in the 1990's. However, the little "Jeopardy!" song and quiz inserts in this episode threw me off, almost like they were added later. No big deal, really. Thanks for sharing this program on KZbin.

I miss her pbs showings in the 90s no art is no longer about the creation it's all about if it comes out so realistic that people paint with a camera now ,to me art is not to be perfect but a slight perfect intention to a shape that speaks that's a painting period

Art is what it always was. Try not to be upset that humanity realized that art is visual and if you need to read a note to tell you what you are looking at then you failed as an artist to convey the message.Modern art where no talent is required and even shunned has been very detrimental to the souls of humanity.Realism does not look like a camera at all. The artist has their artistic license to arrange the picture anyway they want and put in what they want and leave out what they want. For the composition. I for one have had my life saved by art going back to being representational which was done by the artists not by the establishment but inspite of it. Long live representational art.keeps us going.

Yes, it might seem that way, but Helen has less than 30 minutes to complete a lesson. Sometimes, there's a trade-off to ensure the essence of the lesson comes through, most often reflected in her commentary as the painting progresses.
