This song is a real classical masterpiece! One of the best Chazanish pieces written, in my opinion. And this is the first time I've seen somebody singing a cover of Shlomo's songs and doing it justice. In some ways it is even better.

Heavenly !!! Reb Shlomo's lips are "mesafsefosos b"kever" every time someone sings one of his awesome heavenly compositions. It is amazing how his compositions become more mainstream and popular with each passing year.

Correction: this meledy isn't Shlomo Carlebachs composition It was composed by R' Berish Horowitz (Vishever)

Jeremy Berkovits. It’s obviously not Shlomoe’s style

The only time one gets moved, impressed & musically & emotionally involved when we see the Chassidische black hats & garb, is the 'bottle dance' from Fiddler on the Roof'.

Would have been much better with helfgot alone. The choir killed the performance. It's not their fault. When the chazzan goes off doing his thing all the sudden they sound off even though they probably aren't.

Point taken - but I think this says more about the difficulty of semi-impromptu performances than it does about either chazzan or choir - these things take more than a quick practice between the starters and the main course to turn into a balanced product! - in any event, Helfgott is a phenomenal chazzan and he produces kedushah every time he opens his mouth to sing, and I suspect the choir would be great also in their own place, so to speak - a beautiful song (and I agree with those who say this is clearly of chassidish origin and nothing to do with Carlebach) - thanks for sharing.

@@timsoreno Same story with Lulei Sorascha, it was from Europe, it's not his song. But he brought it into our lives.
