Well this season, I was plat 3 and dropped down to plat 2 for a short while! What the hell happened man!? I'd also like to add that I'm Diamond 2 in 2v2's and Diamond 1 in 3v3's now.

this video was so helpful bc i didnt really follow season 3 changes after it came out because i was busy with school. I was so happy i got placed champ 2 div 3 for the first time ever for 2s but when i looked at rocket league tracker it said i was top 6%, when season 2 being C1 div 3 i was top 4%. This is why rocket league tracker is so important, it really shows you how you compare to everyone else, regardless of your rank

I went from Plat 1 after placements to Diamond 2, but it’s been gradual. I also solo queued a lot less so I don’t think it was the weird MMR thing. That being said, I did wind up high Plat 1 right off the bat instead of low Plat 1.

@@louiswinter468 Look, this video is absolutely misleading and the creator actually doesn't take anything into consideration. Maybe he should have looked up the reason for the changes in the system, before making a video about it. When F2P launched, Psyonix lowered the MMR of players using their Soft Reset Technique anticipating that the horde of new players to inflate the MMR to the higher ranks. However, the opposite was measured: In Season 1 the top 5 percent of players moved from Champ 2 to Diamond 3 (look it up). Of course, the massive amount of new players were part of the reason for this measured result. However, Psyonix does not publish any absolute data, so it is hard and maybe unnecessary to pinpoint the exact reason for the lower population in the upper ranks. Basically, Season 1 and Season 2 were the hardest seasons to rank up in. Maybe, it would have been better to find players from Season 14, who did not improve at all, and compare them to Season 3 players.

If the Champ 1 was Diamond 2 before and the player that was Champ 1 before is now Champ 3, what is the point of matching them? i was champ 1 until the reset, then started coming across teammates who didnt understand mid positioning. like, bro, when i pass off the backboard and they awkward, that's a perfect shot opportunity. same with an off the corner pass. or, yk, y'all could pass to me too. infield passes work wonderfully. i don't want to be in plat anymore, but, what can i expect from people that got a free rank up? but this is a me problem, i'll find out how to manipulate plats to take proper shots. that, or i'll take them into freeplay and coach them. it's really, really annoying having to be brought down into this cesspool of toxicity though.

I was Champ 3 last season this season still champ 3. I blame solo queuing. 99% of my games are solo queued and the skill disparity is obvious. I think the biggest problem isn't that they lowered the mmr but that they also widened it. This season you really need some friends that you can come with while playing to really reach your potential rank IMO.
