Helicopter crop dusting in Kentucky

I’m 23,000 hour fixed wing big jet and 44 years of flying... and I watch this video often! If I could learn to fly this and start crop dusting like this... I’d give my notice and start this afternoon.. enjoy your job.

it also makes it easier to land on the truck, and no it's all being sprayed down and back from the door

it's sprayed down and back, but much of it lingers and strays from the original path, so when in the next pass the aircraft's sure to catch some of it. many pilots even use masks with filters to prevent poisoning for the same reason. also, i don't see how landing on a truck would make it any easier. much like the opposite.

That was really neat. One of the best flying clips that I have seen. Loved those in-cockpit shot where you could see the control inputs. Great shot from the silo showing the AC approaching . This is a really great clip. Thank you!

how cool and safe?? i was in an area of NE last year and they were dusting. Bell ranger and all the gear. very Impressive, comes to the end, up kicks that tail around down and away they go. Also the have duster planes for the larger areas....both are fun to watch..... thanks for the post J.

That was fun to watch. Looks like a lot of fun, after awhile perhaps routine but fun. OH-58A was my first Operational Aircraft" flyting as an Air Cav Scout (3rd Sqdn, 5thCAV)at Ft Lewis back in 76 thru 80. That was a fun aircraft to fly. not much power with the C18 engine but what fun. Great in an autorotation. Looks like a fun job. Nice work OBTW. It looks like you and the GSV operator hae your timing nailed down like a fine tuned Swiss watch. A big "Thumbs up" Kimosabe.

excelente vídeo, yo en el 98 volé en un bell 47 que realizaba esta labor, lo mas increíble es el giro que se realiza para entrar en picado, la sensación es espectacular ya que cuando esta terminando de dar el giro se siente un brincoteo en el vídeo se aprecia exactamente en el minuto 3:41 y el helicóptero se vuelve a estabilizar y al estar tan cerca del suelo es una explosión de adrenalina.......UFF.

When i worked on a farm in the 1970s we used A 1954 GMC 6x6 with 2-275 gallon oil tanks filled with Fungicide and a 8hp briggs driving a water pump to do this and it took hours in the evening going up and down the service roads !

4:26 my heart stopped for a second cause the audio cut out right as you were heading towards the ground - which is what happens in flight simulator when you crash. Been flyin too many virtual helos... and at the same time, not enough. Awesome flying. Had no idea helicopters and their pilots are routinely capable of that. Would love to do it some day.

I used to ride and fly soom in a really basic biplane. I think it was the late 50s. The pilot would ask do you want to go over the wires or under. It was funny to look for trucks to dodge.
