The fact that a majority of the leatherwood honey ends up in China and HongKong might give you an idea of what’s going on here !! With a bad year for honey last year I consolidated my bees and took less honey. These guys cried poor and got a bail out from the Tasmania government in the form of cash The trouble here seems to be that the whole operation has become so big in the search for the mighty dollar that during a bad year they try to get the same amount of honey and then struggle to keep the bees alive !! They then tell everyone how important bees are (and they are) and cry out for help when they know there doing the wrong thing. Like any good business a percentage of profits should always be put aside for a year when you might struggle - so crying out for government help during a bad year tells me that you either shouldn’t be in business or work out a completely new business plan. Using the need for bees as a way to pluck at peoples heart strings and obtain government funding is not a business plan!
