We have friends doing this on our Alaskan cruise in August. Wanted to see what it would be like. So cool.

I lived there for 20 years. You had good timing weather-wise, it can be droopy there.

We had the BEST weather! I was born in Fairbanks and Dad could not stop saying how we had great weather the entire trip and would never get an entire week of good weather again if we tried 🤣 it rained the day before or after we were a lot of places… luck was on our side big time

We got the seasick patches and they seemed to make us sick. Those who didn't wear one did better. We went on a cruise in 2017 and I still haven't gotten up the guts to go again as wasn't fun to be sick. And helicopters are so scary. We went on one in Hawaii in 2019 just 4 days before one crashed and killed several people. So I'm still trying to get up the nerve to go on an Alaska cruise and do the glacier sled dog tour. But it's on my bucket list for 2026.

It’s crazy how different medicines affect different people… I have Ménière’s and get severe motion sickness. I’ve tried everything and the patches are the only thing that works for me! I wouldn’t be able to fly or cruise without them (comfortably anyways 😉). The helicopter was not my favorite part but it was a once in a lifetime experience and I loved being on the glacier… so worth it! Hopefully you’ll get there!

Thanks for sharing! What shoes did you wear? We’re going next week and I’m not sure if I need to pack super chunky waterproof shoes or we’ll be fine with those booties they provide…

I wore tennis shoes and the covers and was completely fine! If there was more rain perhaps that would change but the helicopters won’t fly in crazy rain so I think you’ll be fine. Have a great time!

Great video! How much was this excursion?
@Happilyeverafteretc11 ай бұрын
I believe this excursion was $750... the version without the helicopter was $250 (but their dogsled was in town with no snow, they had wheels instead of runners) so it just depends on how much you want to spend and how important the helicopter/glacier portion is to you! My dad was a helicopter pilot my whole life so he was super excited to take a helicopter ride in Alaska (again... he was stationed there when I was born).
