Update! I just returned from Alaska. Mt McKinley was on his bucket list, so I scheduled a flight over Denali and they upgraded me to glacier land! As I stood with tears of joy in awe of it all I know he was therein spirit with me, with his journal from Nepal tucked under my arm the mountain healed me from all years of grief for him leaving us so soon. Very very grateful to Talkeetna Air Taxi for that monumental flight. My late husband made base camp in 2001. It was the trip of a lifetime for him. It’s funny the pilot said you can just walk up. I remember him and getting off the plan when he returned I didn’t recognize him, the weight loss, fatigue but defa new man. He went to the ends of the earth to find the peace he longed for, pushing his body as far as it could go. Thank you so very much for this video, I did t get to trek with him and seeing this truly touched my heart! He passed from leukemia in 2009 a loss to all who knew him and his love for the mountains.

Random stranger, there are mountains in the UK that I'd definitely consider a mountain. Not a mountain comparable to the Himalayas or Alps but they're mountains when you look at the land around them. It's about perspective. I'd count a mountain as anything significantly protruding and rocky or sharp compared to the surrounding land. There are 5000 meter hills in the Himalayas 😂

Love that part of the Himalayas with Everest, Lhotse and Makalu (3 of the top 5 highest) so close to each other. I truly believe though that the Karakoram is the most spectacular of all, especially around the Concordia region, with K2, Broad Peak, Gasherbrum 1 & Gasherbrum 2. The 14 day trek from Askole to K2 base camp is awe inspiring!

R G Yes. Karakorum is crowded with lofty peaks in a small area. In contrast, the Himalayas are laid out on a chain of peaks that is about 1500 km long - from Nanga Parbat as westerns anchor to Namche Baerwa in the eastern end.

To see this surounding landscape is unbelievable ... it is not necessary to climb to the top, just being there is enough.

Great video with stunning views. I was able to appreciate the brief landmark label without obstructions to background. Also appreciated the choice of no voice comments during flight. Thank You👏👏👏

This is a really scenic video of the region around Mount Everest. It is interesting to see those small villages that are in the area of the Himalayas near Mt. Everest.

Thank you very much. Courtesy of your wonderful video I understand why it's called the Khumbu Icefall. It might be a glacier, but in reality it's more like huge blocks of ice tumbling down the mountain face. How steep it is!

Thank you very much for sharing this video !!! Even If I can afford to get there I would have serious Health problems ,so this is the only way for me to see the beauty of the Himalaya. So thanks again !
