I had a similar engine out situation with my a model Enstrom. I took a friend out for his first ride in a helicopter from my front lawn . We made it about five miles and the engine quit, I knew the area very well and headed for the town park nearby. I was unable to make it so I opted to land at a school baseball field . As I approached , the school let all the kids out to play in field and they couldn’t hear a non running helicopter about to descend on them. I made a split decision to land inside the fenced in basketball court. We had to remove gates to get helicopter out onto a truck long story short it was my first and only engine out full stop auto and thankfully no damage except my friends foot cracked window below anti torque peddles . Enstrom saved our lives that day because I probably was not that great at auto rotations but my instructor drilled it into my brain and somehow it worked flawlessly. Kdm

Do you know what the cause of engine failure was?

@@ticenits1926 it was a bad fuel gauge and pump , could have been avoided by a better preflight inspection.
