New generation of the Raccoon® backpack incorporates users feedback and our experiences with this model. Lightweight, yet sturdy 20 Liter capacity pack is an optimal choice for everyday use, yet it is absolutely enough for day hikes and tactical ops, where a larger pack would be an unnecessary burden.

How are the straps after a few hours of hiking? Do the straps dig into your shoulders or is the padding enough?

Good looking pack, well thought out, apart from one very important part, the hip belt (not a waist belt) which isn't just to hold the pack into your back. It needs to be clamped to the hips so it won't slip where the vast majority of the load is taken... at the body's centre of gravity. Therefore it needs more padding.

Very very few packs of this size range will have padding for the hip belt. For the amount of weight reasonable to this pack it wouldn't affect much comfort for the cost and complication it would add. A hip belt on packs this size is primarily for keeping the pack from bouncing around, not bearing load. At least in my experience

When I was about to buy my First Tactical Tactix 0.5 Day pack it was a difficult choice between the Tactix, the Raccoon Mk2 and the Dragon Egg from Direct Action. Note that I also have experience with the two Polish packs since my friends swear by them. For those in a similar predicament, any of the three would be a great choice, the Tactix only won out in my case because it has the biggest capacity. The two Polish packs represent better value for money though.

Pozdrawiam

Just ordered it because of the ability to put my sleeping bag and mat on it with shockcord and compression straps. Also ordered a medicinal pouch that I hope I can fit it on the side. Also the straps on the waist and chest are super good idea. Planning on taking this on a two day canoing trip.
@NebelNexus
@NebelNexus Ай бұрын
Sounds cool, did it work out? What sleeping bag do you use, if I may ask?
@Gaming4Justice
@Gaming4Justice Ай бұрын
@@NebelNexus It did work out. I stuffed it to the max although I wish it could have fit more in it. It gets really tight with 20L. I packed it full of food and attached everything else on the outside. As for food, I picked as dense with calories as possible to last two days. I didn't use a camelback so I just fit two 1,5L water bottles in there and as much food as possible. Maybe could have saved room with a 3L camelback. The stuff they fit in the bag in the video are a bit deciving as they're actually really small. One time I picked up the backpack from the canoe, stuff behind the straps came loose, so I'm not sure how well it will hold for a long time. I didn't check the straps as I lifted it but I hadn't touched them too much. I walked around with it few hundred meters in total and it's pretty comfortable. The backpanel hold against the back really well. The bottom strap was totally useless to me atleast. I couldn't even fit my sleeping mat between there and I had quite a small one. Some sort of foam mat. So I attached the mat on one side and sleeping bag on the other side. As for shock chords, I kept my raincoat there for easy access. Also since I went with rubber boots, just in case, I tied a pair of running shoes on the outside through the straps, worked pretty well. While I've been carrying some of the heavier stuff, I feel like it doesn't always sit too comfortably against the back. Like the bottom of the bag goes against the waist but the middle leaves a gap on the back. So it's not like terribly uncomfortable but maybe it needs better adjusting or better weight placing in the bag. As for what I've been hearing that the panel on straps and back are breathable? No, they're not. My back always sweats the most from the back and under the straps but I guess that would be with all backpacks. I'm just saying it doesn't make much difference. The medicinal pouch I bought is larger then I anticipated and it looks rather large compared to the backpack. The bottom side also sort of hangs over the bag because the molle straps are so few and around the bottom side. So maybe if you're going with a smaller one then it would fit well. I just wanted easy access in case of injuries. Now I keep in the adminstrative pouch. Now I've been using it as my day backpack, so I transport my laptop and essentsials in it if I'm travelling. I put my gaming laptop, cooling pad and all the other stuff a laptop has and that's most of the room in the backpack. Yeah I can fit some stuff more but not too much. So I'm sort of kinda disappointed in the amount of room in the bag. Sleeping bag is a cheap one I got from a store quite a while ago. It took quite a bit of room but it was rated to like 0 degrees celcius.

@Gaming4Justice
@Gaming4Justice 23 күн бұрын
@@diegospinnerable I've seen a lot of people using Mil-Tec 36L tactical bag so might have gone for that. Cheaper and more room, but different material. Also as I've heared it has no backplate and I don't think it was a waist strap or a chest one, not too sure on that. The other one I really considered was Galvi-Linda 063 black backpack. It's Estonian made, Cordura material, lots of room but it costs a hellofa lot. I considered not buying it just because it doesn't look as cool and it's a bit too expensive for my taste.
