This band has a very interesting backstory which you should look into to appreciate how far they've come, the short version is they're from my hometown of Nottingham England, they were achieving success in the 80s with legendary stageshows with exploding bibles and a similar show to what you see here. Their leader and main songwriter Dave Halliday suffered from depression and committed suicide after the bands management and label dropped them due to financial issues at the label months before their album was due to launch, effectively breaking up the band. Fast forward 30 years, and they reunited because his close friend, Andy Sneap, just so happened to now be a major metal music producer and he personally instigated the reformation of the band and played guitar and mixed the album. The debut album was 30 years in the making and featured backing vocals from Halliday which were taken from old demo tapes and mixed into the album, along with primary vocals by the guitarists' brother, Dave Bower, who is also a stage and TV actor who specialises in Shakespearean plays. All in all quite a tale.

I've said the same thing to myself many times about band names like "Ghost" for young bands ! 😉 Same thing for all the "Black or Dark something".. About Hell... Well, it's worth watching 1 time. Maybe not too much more... But i'm surprised that they're not much "famous"

It's King Diamond just more crunchy. Not calling them a rip off, it's just that you can easily tell their influences. At first I got manowar vibes but once the singer kicked in with the opera vocals it was King Diamond hands down.

bro many of their songs were written in 82 and 83 around the same time when mercyful fate were releasing their first songs. I doubt they were influenced by them back then.
