Hit it this last weekend - good description of it.

Thank you. This is actually my favorite trail that I’ve done.

How do you find all these cool trails.? By the way lovely music….
@NotICON3 жыл бұрын
Alltrails.com is a good app and helped me find a some of the trails, plus its free. I also used Fun Treks Guide to California Backroads & 4-Wheel Drive Trails, its a book that I got from Amazon. A lot of the trails were by word of mouth and people posting in facebook groups. The music is growing on you isn't it? 😂 Here is a link to the Fun Treks book www.amazon.com/Guide-California-Backroads-4-Wheel-Trails/dp/1934838071/ref=pd_sbs_3/136-3896284-2379607?pd_rd_w=oHRyk&pf_rd_p=180628c6-6f13-4dbf-9213-f09cdedc7815&pf_rd_r=T3APD0S429TJ7071XNBR&pd_rd_r=da1c73c8-9e86-47c8-afc2-06bd372f2bdc&pd_rd_wg=FgL78&pd_rd_i=1934838071&psc=1

Is the trail a dead end and you go up the same way you came down?
@NotICON2 жыл бұрын
Yes the trail dead ends at the bottom and you will have to go back out the same way you came in. There is some amazing camping at the bottom though

Nice I have been wanting to do this trail. Not sure why I never have.

You should, it’s an absolute blast. Camp at the end of the trail if you can, it’s so peaceful.

I was just talking to someone about Hell Hole this weekend. I haven't been on it years! It looks like you had another great trip. Nice getting around those big rocks with wet tires. Another great video. I am just catching up on your channel!

Yeah He’ll Hole is an awesome trail. I like that it’s not as busy as some of the other trails as well.

Yeah it would probably have a difficult time in some of the tighter places. I was already dragging over all kinds of stuff in a JKU

Michael Padgett thank you. Skid plates are your best friend, especially for the longer wheel bases

Just did it in a JT on 37’s and a 4” lift - required a good spotter and planning at the tree root hole half way. No doors no roof.

Thanks for the informative video. We are planning a day trip, out and back. Can you share about how long it took you, each way? Thank you!
@NotICON4 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching. It’s a really fun trail. Depending on the level of your build, experience, and group size, I would estimate 3-4 hours one way

@@NotICON Thanks - that is about what I was expecting but nice to have this confirmed! Heading out in our JLU w/37's. We just did the Rubicon earlier this fall, and that left us itching for one more run this year.
@NotICON4 жыл бұрын
@@chrismatthews8815 the red JLU in this video is on 37s. There are some tight areas, but they made it through with out an issue. Those 37s made the trail look easy.

What Mods have you made to your rig to tackle these obstacles?? I see so many videos on people dismantling their jeeps to add another 30k to go wheeling.
@NotICON4 жыл бұрын
I have a 3.5” lift on 35s, full MetalCloak skid plate system, and rock rails. I’ve honestly done a lot, since I have a Sport and not a Rubicon, but those are what I would recommend as a minimum on a 4 door. And a winch just in case.
@rogerballard35874 жыл бұрын
Any stock Rubi’s with just 35”s in the group?
@NotICON4 жыл бұрын
@@rogerballard3587 the Rubicon that ran the trail with me is on a 3.5" lift and 37s. I had a guy in a bone stock Rubicon make it through Strawberry Pass with me though.
@coloradomallcrawlers4 жыл бұрын
Such a good video! You’d think the red Jeep on 37s would have had an easier time as that dude looked scared to death. He probably should of let his wife drive (she did great in the other videos) 🤣🤣. Oh god, I gotta stop, but this makes all his comments to me so much funnier! Ok, I’m done, but damn, your videos are so good! I hope you make it to Colorado!
@NotICON4 жыл бұрын
She actually drove out, which in my opinion is the harder part. You don’t have gravity to help you down an obstacle. It was also the second time that she drove a trail. The Deer Vally Trail is her 3rd time and she actually drove the whole thing. Thank you for watching.

Was thinking about doing this trail when I go to Tahoe in a couple weeks.. I've got a pretty built jk rubicon(heavy duty bearings and u joints, chromo rear shafts, Yukon ring and pinion, 4.5 long arm and the drag link/tie rod to go with it, maybe missing a thing or two).. any trail suggestions for a guy that wants to do some wheeling but needs to drive it back to the coast when I'm finished? haha I've been enjoying your channel. Thanks for the content
@NotICON4 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your support. Honestly you could probably do the Rubicon and be fine with that build. I would just take 2 days min to do it, and go with a buddy. Strawberry is pretty easy, and can be done without any issue. Signal peak is another easy trail that fun and has some great views. You shouldn’t brake anything on either of those trails. Check out Twin Peaks via Sawmill Pond in South Lake Tahoe as well.
@kylegaidos76884 жыл бұрын
@@NotICON thank you, so much. I try not to beat it, let the gears and lockers do the work. But we will be the only vehicle :/ so I am keeping that in mind. Hard not to have all the fun though
@NotICON4 жыл бұрын
@@kylegaidos7688 If thats the case then Signal Peak is a good one if you are solo. I think its easy, but its still a lot of fun. Twin Peaks has a bypass for all of the obstacles, but its short and pretty much in down town South Lake Tahoe. If you're in that area and like BBQ then check out Sonney's BBQ Shack Bar & Grill. I'm from Texas and I think the BBQ there is pretty good.
