The night maps are a little difficult to see some of the maps with the night and the fog added you can't see much of anything so overall I'm not feeling the night maps as much as I thought I would

I really like the night maps however it enables uneven gameplay when people use filters/settings. The whole point of night maps is that you can't see as well

I really agree - that's why I wish it wasn't so easy in-game to raise the brightness, I want that reduced vision. Just that you get killed so much when you don't bump the settings :-/

one hundred percent, but HLL's darkness was simply too much. like i was wearing sunglasses at night. Frankly when you're in the moonlit dark for enough time, your eyes adjust you can see way better than HLL makes it look at night. Its hard enough as it is to see in the day time. It's so dark. I do have mine a bit brighter to be closer to the actual human eyes but not as high as some.

Night maps are really irritating, too easy to drop airheads and supplies, and it makes it easy for a good commander to sweep the map, games don't develop it simply encourages steam rolls. I'd get rid of them, I can simply win every game easily on a night map as a commander.

Singapore Iwo Jima Kokoda track These are the 3 best first choices for pacific maps and bring completely different gameplay styles because the maps are each VERY unique. They are also extremely iconic battles in the Pacific theatre.

The stutters are no longer "micro" and more "macro". Most people I see report the stutters are less frequent but longer lasting. For me, they are both more frequent and often last more than a second. It's worse now than ever before. Also hit registration is the worst I've ever seen it. People constantly report bullets that are perfect hits do nothing. I regularly fill people with 5-10 bullets and they single tap me then walk on my corpse... There is room for improvement, lets say.

@@LCTRgames Low ping servers, happens on every server I play. Lots of youtubers, like alpine sniper, have videos showing bad hit reg. This is a well known and reported issue that is steadily getting worse.

6:26 this just happened to me started the match asking “guys what are nodes” and ended that game pushing behind enemy lines with a co ordinated squad and getting just under 20 kills already hooked to this title.

I appreciate that story of wholesome moments in the game. I just downloaded it last night and am going to be jumping on after work. Makes me happy to know there are legit team players in this game. I've been playing a lot of arcade style shooters (Apex, Cod) and the team play leaves a lot to be desired.

@@LCTRgames after 2 weeks and about 40 hours in war, I can say I absolutely love this game. I have had some of my favorite moments in my gaming career. Whether it's the hilarious prox chat, or intense squad communication, or cinematic battles. It's amazing. My SINGLE complaint is how much the game crashes. I generally get about a battle and a half in before it freezes or crashes. Which sucks for all the XP lost or the people I abandon after a fun start. If the stability was fixed, I'd have far more time into this game. 9/10

The nighttime variations have a pleasant side effect that machineguns are less dominant, especially on the Foy map. MG gunners have a harder time seeing you at long range and you have it easier to locate them because of the muzzle flash. Personally I like the night versions of maps for this reason.

I would say that if the developers can get these extremely annoying and long-lasting stutters on certain maps under control, the game will really be a successful strategy shooter. I come from a time when, for example, games like America's Army or whatever were in the starting blocks... I think HLL is a shooter with clearly a lot of potential... I miss the more careful treatment of the community a bit, too I would like it to be more “clan”-oriented, because these are exactly the reasons for ongoing improvements that the game simply needs

I just started playing a few days ago. It released on Gamepass. Didn't think I would be into it. Tried it by myself and that was the best thing I could have done. Met two high ranks that were very chill and walked me through being a officer and it really was a good time.

Yea a true city map would be cool - Stalingrad is interesting but it's obviously very destroyed. Do wonder if ppl's reaction to the performance of that map might make them not want to go for a full urban map tho

I just upgraded to the 7800X3D with a 4090 and this game is so buttery smooth in 4K now. I do t k ow if it’s the hardware or if the game has been fixed by the devs. Before the stuttering was awful.

Hell Let Loose is my #1 favorite game. I have over 1200 hours on PS5 and have been playing for three weeks on a new PC. Yeah, the game has had so shaky updates but the developers are listening. Need to give them a chance to fix things and give positive support so the game doesn't crash and burn like Burning Lands.

I have a 5900X with 3070. If you have an older cpu then that might be it. It's with 3800MHz ram, only other thing is that I spent some time tightening the timings - dunno if that helps perhaps.

@@fifesimracerguy455 I'd expect your cpu to be faster than mine tbh. I have PBO enabled in bios but it doesn't get any more power / amps - I just use the default values. I get peaks of 5GHz on 50% of cores. Only other thing is RAM speed like I said. I have 32GB of 3800MHz ram with semi-decent timings.

The devs stated that the hitching was from reducing the time of origin rebasing. This has helped with walls actually appearing in front of enemies, but it is extremely annoying. Stalidgrad is still the worst experience in the game, and has gone years without any attention to it. Some players cannot play Kursk because of the hitching happening for 3 full seconds at a time. Plus many other maps now have this issue. Also, the NVidia filters have been removed, and while the competitive community continues to cry about it, it makes the rest of us realize just how non competitive it actually was.

If you don’t like the constant blue dots you can enable a setting that only shows the dots of players you can actually see, I never see people use this setting but it makes the game so much visually clearer

Fair point, I didn't know there was an only-visible option. I just wish it wasn't so eye-catching in-general tbh - hope they do an update pass on that ui and find some middle-ground where it's not so in-your-face.

Just went back to this game. The vaulting is a bit clunky imo, and a few times I got physically stuck in a tree or a crate where I had to go prone to get out of it. Gameplay feels good but for some reason my ping was going high. Not sure why this was happening. Playing in a communicating squad makes this game better 10 fold !

Think the vaulting is clunky if you come from other titles but for a mil-sim (or past Hell Let Loose) it's pretty decent now. ..and yea, communication makes the game come to life!

I mostly play on The Line servers because of how good players are on average. It is a helpful community and you can skip the queue with a $5 Patreon subscription. We just need more maps in the style of the French maps. More urban combat.

Prior to the night maps I ran my brightness on 90%, it appeared to me to look better. Now with night maps I still run 90% brightness, no changes. Anybody who adjusts the brightness to defeat night maps is wasting the good map.

I feel that I am having more performance issues than before. I have a good computer setup but I am having trouble with consistent FPS performance more than I was a few months ago. I’m happy if I’m consistently getting 70fps… Also, it seems every server runs the same 4 maps. I haven’t seen El Alamein in a hot minute. The Russian maps are super rare. And wasn’t there a night Hurtgen forest or did I just imagine that? 😂 Locked squads are the worst. And if you see a locked squad with all clan members it’s gonna be the most unbalanced game ever. These clan servers can be awful about balancing.

In fll(finletloose) server we have russian maps allmost everyday in rotation, also british driel is there. El Alamein mostly not, because it's still so unbalanced betweeen British and Germany. And about hurtgenforest night, it has been alot in rotation in last days/weeks :) And about the balance between clanmembers in server, we allways try to balance the game to way that everyone has fun and fair game. Ofcourse it dosnt happen allways but thats what we are trying for.

If you haven't already have a look at some video setting guides that breakdown which graphics settings actually make a noticeable difference to fps. There are a few that EVERYONE switches straight to off or as low as they can go to get a big boost. Also use steam launch commands dx12 and useallcores. I've found a big way to help with the stutters is to use rivatune to set an fps cap at a number you can fairly reliably stay at. If I leave mine unlocked I can easily run about with 100+ in a busy area, but then something in the game will happen and knock the fps down by 30-50% just for a moment and the sudden drop causes an aweful noticeable stutter. Where as if I lock it to 80fps in riva the same sudden drop will only knock a few fps off the game for a moment and the much smaller change smooths out the visual/stutter affect.

Adjusting your settings to alter the intended game play of the map, to gain a clear advantage, aka turning up brightness to eliminate the ‘night’ feel is F’n cheating. If I’m not mistaken, that ability was disabled on nvidia cards for this game, as mentioned in a previous update. Not as bad as the COD cheaters paying 50$ a month to hack though. Just get good.

I prefer HLL than Squad and PS. More teamplay in HLL. And less crappy features just here to annoy you (like the lack of auto reloading for bolt action and stuff like that). I also don't like the fact than 80% of the players in Squad & PS play with crappy weapons. I don't like the walking speed in HLL. It was faster (and better) in U7 and the straight frontline/2 strong points. Would have been better with a real frontline to fight for.
