Something tells me you haven't played the commander role a whole lot, don't know how many times I lost the mid point because I didn't have the resources to reinforce or call in a bombing run or get an airhead since all spawns are down. Also, having no man power increases the spawn timer and you cant use reinforce, that can make all the difference when defending a point. By glossing over the importance of the commander role, you ignore the biggest aspect of HLL, its logistics.

What I’ve noticed about both games because i play both is that HLL just has a bigger community backing it! The leveling up actually makes you want to come back to the game, unfortunately theres no leveling in post/squad 44, which makes you feel like, “why should i keep playing”? I really like swuad but somethings just missing and you never get be chaotic situations like HLL, love the sounds in post/squad44 but dont know why HLL is just what i like more

I will never get this argument. Older games especially shooters never had any leveling up until cod4+ made it popular and everyone was fine with it. Do you play the game for the game itself or for the artificial rewarding system? Im all for fairness and making games that are enjoyable by themselves.

PS is WAY too sweaty for me. As a former Royal Artillery RSM it makes me absolutely cringe being forced to use a mic and hearing civvies try barking orders at each other. I know HLL also has this, but it's far more accessible and "fun" than Post Scriptum is. Most of the games I've joined in PS have squads forcing you into their discord and raging at new players for having the wrong kit.

It's called teamwork. I was in the military, and I have zero problems with non-military personnel giving out orders. As long as they're giving out good comms and leading the team well. Plus, half the people I've met in the military have shittier communication skills than the people I've met on Squad and Squad 44(PS).

That was my thought throughout the video. Everytime someone compares 3D shooter games, the first thing in my mind when they're talking about an aspect is "Does this incentivize camping or not"? Putting big mobility penalties definitely would do just that - and I already don't like that aspect of HLL when someone can rack up kills simply by laying in bushes for half the match (though karma gets them when they dont help with team objectives)..

I agree with everything but gunplay? I thought HLL gunplay is bad with minimal weapon sway, unrealistic sights, unrealistic bullet drop, unrealistic damage etc.. PS/44 has like one server that has people playing at any time. Sometimes 2. There's not a hulge player base there. HLL has a huge player base just on pc alone with almost 100 always populatedl. I own both games, and I hope PS/44 gets more players.

Beautiful maps (less so now that they don’t mirror the actual locations as much) with horrible meta and questionable gunplay vs. cursed maps but good gunplay and gameplay, I would say post scriptum for the win as it has more potential. HLL also has poor historical accuracy regarding uniforms now.

four weeks on and the playerbase has plateaued but if you live in the US then you usually have two or more full servers at peak times, sometimes they're full into midnight PST (which is like 3 AM EST)

I have PS but newer really played it at much, as I used to play mostly with friends and PS is too hardcore for them. I have played 208 hours of HLL and I also love it. But I think that you have missed one of the selling points about PS at least to me. And that is that you can go into every building. Which means that the enemy can be in every window. And that makes your decisions and movement more intense. Whereas in HLL the town battles feel more lane-ish. By the way. You probably don´t remember me, and I don´t blame you. But you made a video about Operation Harsh Doorstop and read my comment. So maybe it's almost about to revisit the game. I know there is a big update on the 21th If I remember correctly. Soon the year has past ;)

I played quite a bit of HLL but moved away from it for other games. When interest in PS picked up again, i thought I would check it out. I just cant get into it. HLL was hard when I first started but i was still having fun and enjoying it even though I sucked at it. PS just doesn't feel fun to me. I'm going to wait and see what OWI do now they have it, and try again. I like squad, so i'm not sure why PS isn't doing it for me - maybe i'll come around.

just a quick look at how bolt action rifles function in both games tell you where they focused, in Post Scriptum or Squad 44 you cant just shoot, you need to click to shoot and another click to remove the empty shell from the bolt, if i am not wrong in Hell let loose you don't need to do this.

My only comment about the armor in PS though, I think they are just too fast now, if they would limit the actual tanks, the Shermans and the Pz4's, the King Tiger and Panther and the British armor to 2nd or 3rd gear at most, that would be better IMHO, but they all zip around like the Pumas and the Daimlers which isn't really realistic.

I think that's because of what they tried to archive. One mechanic they didn't manage to archive is terrain effect on vehicles, like driving on grass be different from driving on concrete. So now every vehicle drives like you are on concrete

HLL is a casual arcade style game akin to battlefield or COD. Post Scriptum is on a whole other level regarding: coordination, teamwork, realism, weapons, sound design is insane, armor is incredible, and far more hardcore. PS is far superior and it’s not even close.

But if a player is not into that more hardcore aspect then that game is not better for the player. It’s about what the player wants out of the experience. They are both great games made for slightly different crowds. Think about ARMA. Ive just been playing BFV and I absolutely slap at the game. Really mastered every class with sniping my favourite. These seem way more hardcore but look pretty fun. Thinking of getting HLL since its on xbox and I only play console. So PS I couldn't play.

I played about 500 hours of HLL and im over it. It's daunting, cringy work. Not fun. Most of the time teams are stacked for a 20 minute helpless slaughter. Every once in awhile do I actually have fun with a group of randoms who know what they are doing and have a few laughs slogging it out. But recently ive noticed a few things like people making squads and leaving the sqaud immediately to make another as to foce people into the game but then it's a drag asking someone to take the role. Lots of SL with no microphones either. Lame. Booooooooo. 9\10 in the first few weeks. 4/10 after getting your feet wet. Meh.

Squad44 may be more hardcore, have more in depth vehicle gameplay, better audio, but that's about it. HLL is the more polished and visually appealing game. Forget the console gamers and compare the two games on Steam. There's a reason why HLL has far more positive reviews than Squad44 even though it came out 3 years after! 81k compared to 16k. There's a reason why HLL has a far larger player base. There's a reason why HLL is above Squad44 in rankings. The numbers don't lie. Not to mention Squad have the flawed ticket system. This puts an emphasis on getting kills and can ruin battles and the need to push for points. Not fun. HLL focuses more on territory and team cooperation. Not kills.

A lot of copy and paste buildings that are empty and look like they should be in a ps2 game. Weird window placements that make it difficult to defend certain buildings.

Be sure to check prices on G2A if you're on a tight budget (they sell steam keys), you might be able to get both on there much cheaper. Worth mentioning that you don't get the Steam 14 day refund period when buying through 3rd party key resellers though. If you like Arma 3 and want something similar, I'd go with Post Scriptum (Squad 44), but if you're looking to mix it up and play something more cinematic/arcadey, closer to Battlefield but with more advanced features and punishing combat, then Hell Let Loose. You can't really go wrong with either choice tbh, they're both great, but Post Scriptum (Squad 44) has more to offer imo.

we need hell let loose so that the post scriptum knows which direction not to turn in. Post scriptum much better than hll. I have both of them, I still cant play that hll with his gunplay, its just flying hands with weapon with non body or legs. Just like counter strike 1.6

Only played HLL, so I'm bias. However just from the game titles alone, HLL wins, since ww2 was hell and as pawn pieces to command, this is what they wanted, hell letting loose. What exactly is post scriptum ? and why name a WW2 FPS game like that hmmmmmm
