That's not exactly true, jail isn't for punishment, it's to make sure the defendant makes it to trial and once convicted prison will be the punishment. Remember, he's not yet been convicted so since he's innocent until proven guilty, punishment before the conviction is inappropriate.

But the purpose isn't punishment, it's the difference between jail and prison, one is for temporary holding and the other is punishment. I think his prison time is coming for sure, and it's likely he'll eventually off himself like Aaron Hernandez.

It's prison. It's jail. I've never heard anyone say going there is fun. It's nice. As a matter of fact, I've always heard it's hell on Earth. I think that's really the gist of how jail is generally described. I don't know if his allegations are true or not. I'm not going to I wasn't there. Don't know who's telling the truth and who is it? I will say this though. Some of the people making the allegations describe his treatment of them as hell on Earth. Not that it matters because we just don't know the truth from fiction.

MDC is a federal detention center, federal equivalent of county/city jail.. People awaiting trial on federal charges are kept there.. The conditions might be bleak but its nothing close to 'hell on earth'.. Certain housing units on Rikers are 10x's worse than anything MDC has to offer.. Far as the Feds, hell on earth would be USP's(United States Penitentiaries), maximum security Fed joints where the highest level federal prisoners are shipped off to. .
