While D.W. Griffith is always cited as the foremost director of dramatic films during the 1910's, I have to say William S. Hart's films which coincided with Griffith's are just as good, if not better in some respects.

you can see john gilbert the great silent film actor in some of the background scenes.in 9 years he was the biggest movie star in the world usually paired with garbo.i noticed some of the scenes were edited to quicken the pace of the film because i got this on dvd and some of the scenes were more noticeable.

The colorization here is a KZbin feature and not on the original video used; hence only one color could be used.

fascinating to see westerns made only a few years after the fact.....

The former William S. Hart ranch is close to where I grew up. Used to really like visiting it. Ill tell ya the badlands around the area must have been a trip in the day.

I saw the film projected and the print was actually dyed red at the part when they made the town look like "hell". I was told not all of the prints had the dyes in them. I think there was another color as well blue was it? so your saying youtube changed the colors? perhaps bad compression?
