I recommend bumping up some of the settings like Shadow quality and Global Illumination to 'Medium', and Foliage detail to 'High' and then use/engage dynamic resolution scaler (if you're not using DLSS/FSR) to prevent frame-rate drops. Global illumination on Low during dark scenes look extremely dark, the scene doesn't look 'right' if you will.

Great work. Thank you somuch but I noticed that medium reflection looks bad at 1080p. I have to set it to high. like in any other games, reflections usually show the actual render resolution which is below 1080p if you play at 1080p.

Everyone seems to be testing variable rate shading in scenes where it doesn't really help. It works great with lots of particles like at the very beginning when you're shuffing along the cliff looking down at the misty water crashing aroun. Big performance improvement there.

FSR3 doesn't work well, hence that mod isn't very smooth. Lossless scaling is smooth though, I'm using that for frame generation.

It's pretty interesting.. I have a 21:9 monitor and correspondingly didn't even know that the game has black bars. On 21:9, it's just a full picture. Which makes sense -- 21:9 is very close to the 2:35:1 that a lot of movies use. And clearly Ninja Theory was going for cinamaticness.

Variable Shading can give few fps but its not on every scene u looking at so keep it ON not OFF, also in benchmark of VS u would not notice any degradation of quality.

Noticing that weird pixelated effect as well, high effect setting does reduced it, but it's still there, strangely on cutscenes it's non existent, they probably use different asset between normal gameplay vs cutscenes.

You used to make videos optimizing the 3060 Ti for 1080p resolutions. Considering that this game is very resource-demanding, why are you optimizing it for 1440p with a 3060 Ti instead of a more logical 1080p resolution? On the other hand, I (and most people) don't have the option displayed on the screen to increase the resolution above 1080p because our monitor doesn't support it.

I don't know about memory handling comment. I have a 4060 (8gb) and it seems that when the game tries to load lots of things, performance goes to shit. It then needs like a good 3-6m to stabilize I find reducing settings that cost VRAM makes this problem go away

Great video, how does TSR, XeSS and FSR compare performance wise? Usually XeSS runs slightly worse than FSR at the same internal resolution, while TSR really depends on how it's setup.

Performance wise, FSR runs better compared to XeSS (DP4a). TSR is quite similar to FSR in terms of performance, and in my opinion, TSR is the best option if you don't have an RTX GPU.

1080p resolution has been declared dead for the past five or six years. Yet here we are in 2024 and a 3080 ti is barely pushing 60-65 fps in Hellblade on ultra at native FHD without DLSS or FSR.

3:07 You have to use the "dll_winhttp" version of the mod on the 30 series to get frame generation to work properly. Using it on my 3070 laptop with max settings with upscaling on balanced at 1440p and getting over 80 fps.

@@TeenPerspektiva I tuned the game to 'Series X settings' so I get 90 to over 100 fps now. For this type of single player slow game experience, there are absolutely no drawbacks. Coupled with the fact that I disabled all post processing, the image is so incredibly clear and fluid with the additional frames. It's like I'm getting a "high end" experience on a Mid range laptop.
