great thing that the devs really put out there is the lie that you are elite. There is so much in the game to express that you aren't. Your body, and the bodies of your fellow helldivers are essentially stored in bullet like casings. The Super destroyer itself is mostly just a gun, used to shoot expendable helldiver ammunition. The ship will leave without after a timer expires, because you are as expendable to super earth as the ammo you are firing.

You are an expendable elite because if you think about it only 1% of Saef soldiers get to be enlisted as helldivers but 1% of 98644799753269975315898642689966464 peaople is a lot. And im keeping myself low. We are 8.100.000.000 on earth. Right now. We can predict sane or even more in the future. Plus we got even more planets an entire galaxy colonized and in kept growth. We are technicaly an elite....in a very large estime andwe are so many that we are expendable. But if you think about it some of the helldivers are even of another generation from the first galactic war since they got hibernated till needed.

I knew the game held pseudo-satirical elements similar to Starship Troopers with how it portrays governments but jesus i didnt know it was borderline Orwelian with a literal Ministry of Truth and child permit, this isnt a democracy at all lmao. I do like this setting though, its very well written. It reminds me of North Korea with how this extremely tyranical government doesnt have to exercise much forced control over the populace due to generations of self-policing

Illusions are more desirable than reality for some people. I work security, have done so for a number of d years now, and I'll tell you that people do not like taking any time out of their day to participate in any kind of security measure. Their reasoning is that THEY aren't a threat, doing anything wrong, or plan to do anything wrong. So why should THEY be stopped, show ID, or be searched. However, I'm not a mind reader, nor am I Superman. If the sites policy is that all personnel must show valid ID for entrance that means ALL, not some. However it's a pain and inconvenient. The Security Guard should just know who the bad guys are because it's their job to know. In regards to government, people don't like to admit fault or own up to bad electoral choices. They vote, and if anything horrible happens due to their candidates it's not their fault. Not directly at least. A good friend of mind, when asked that if a country only had single candidate to vote for as ruler would it be truly democratic, she said yes. Yes, because in her mind a vote was still being done. People, sadly, would fall for the illusion of democracy if it meant getting results - to pretend to work, and to pretend to pay the worker. So long as the ilussion of choice and free will were kept. Because both choice and free will are Herculean burdens to bear, and it is easier to push that burden onto someone else.

What makes you so sure the Sq'uith are going to be in the game? I thought lore wise they were pushed back to their home planet and wiped from existence in HD 1? Great video though man, keep up the good work

Sorry for the late response, you might have already seen stuff on it. In case you havnt we have seen some leaks on them and then there have been some in game teasers “blue lasers” that you might have seen. I think we also got dev confirmation at some point but maybe that’s wrong.

The Alcubierre is a “real” drive a designed by a theoretical physicist (Alcubierre) in the 90’s. His inspiration was the Star Trek warp drive.

@@ecbrown6151 it’s exotic energy. It also requires an infinitely thin negative energy bubble to envelop the ship. There’s actually been a few new iterations designed in the last 10 years or so

@@true_cyan9188 no problem. Read up on warp drives if you ever want a rabbit hole to fall down. They are great experiments. A few groups have iterated on the initial concept over the last decade.

A lot of people compare this game's lore to Starship Troopers, mostly the director, Verhoven, and his three films. A lot of people call SST "fascist" when it's not. At most you could call it a Jingoist Republic, but the fact you can "buy in" to the Terran Federation at anytime, regardless of age, fitness, race, color, or creed. That and the fact you have the right to serve. Verhoven never read the books and called them "boring" because they didn't align with his "fascist parody movie" which is ironic considering some of the writers who also barely knew about the source material included the very key points that made SST not fascist at all. Helldivers however, actually is, but they don't go into the more ethno-centric avenue, in so far as it pertains to Humanity, but along the "in group" and "out group" and the on the nose ideology of "Managed Democracy" which George Orwell alludes to in all but name in his book 1984. The act of managing a system that is supposed to take in the "buy-in" of the general population and add an uncaring, unloving, and possibly manipulatable algorithm for the choice of candidate (or lack of choice there of) is the crux of it all. That and the fact they call themselves a "Democracy" should be a red flag, as Democracies always lewd to tyranny of the mob and/or tyranny of the *mob mentality* in a Tualatin practice. Getting your children and neighbors to snitch on your "devisive" thoughts and using talk such as being "unpatriotic" is kinds antithetical to the actual tenets of the system that is only using the fascade of United States-style Republicanism (do not be confused by the term Republicanism, as I am referring to the system of government NOT the political party) because of the checks and balanc system of having representatives in the government, as well as a popular vote so that the counties and towns are not overshadowed by the more numerous urban and suburban cities and municipalities as best as possible. It is by no means perfect, but you are able to move and be apart of communities the best fit your needs, ideology, and support. It is by no means perfect, but it is as efficient as we will get, because individualism is always more inherently, long-term, efficient where as collectivism is not. Hence why Super Earth needs to constantly start wars with the surrounding factions of the galaxy, because much like marxist regimee of today, they always need a "boogeyman" to get behind. Endless wars make sheep out of sheepdogs.

I would say the government of super earth has far more in common with the US than “Marxism”, and democracy and republicanism(system not party) are inherently collectivist, which I believe isn’t a bad thing.

Well, that was quite the screed. Let's see. For starters, Verhoeven never made a Starship Troopers sequel. He's never made any sequel. Verhoeven didn't *finish* reading the book, because he didnt need to in order to tell its story. That's what you get with Ayn Rand style writing more interested in its propaganda than its narrative. You've asserted that the Federation is a Jingoistic Republic but that's directly contradicted in both film and book. The military is in control of the government, with soldiers having seized power; they don't allow for any level of personal freedoms, having direct control over even reproduction; they have complete control over all media outlets. They are as much a republic as modern China is, which is to say they do enough to project the outward appearance of it, but any serious examination of the government's working easily shows the lie. I'm afraid I'm on mobile and my phone is no longer cooperating and I cant see any more of your post. But I will end with this. You made a massive post about Starship Troopers on a Helldiver video. Why are you so invested in defending such an old, propagandistic work that is only tangently related to the topic at hand. Next thing you know you'll be arguing the Imperium of Man is 40k's good guys. Get your life together, man.

@@true_cyan9188 It wasn't entirely off topic, but I did waffle on, sorry about that. The reason I stated what I did was because of the incorrect comparison to Starship Troopers because a lot of people don't understand Verhoven never finished the book, and disregarded most of the actual plot points and loosely included portions of the book that were major notations in the novel.

@@quinnhusband749 On the surface that may seem so, but once you peel it back, it aligns with somany marxist thought and derivative nations where they offer the total illusion. It's the total illusion of individualism, but the moment you actually execute authority, natural rights, and liberties that the original intent of the Constitutional Republic model is _supposed_ to accommodate in a way disfavorable to Super Earth, such as "wrong-think" this is woefully collectivist. That's what the Mustash Man of WWII did to the Miniature Hat Enthusiasts (gotta be careful YT likes to flag either of those mentioned by proper name) or what Stalin did during the _Holodomor_ for mere thought people would become dissident.

I have also thought about this kinda paradoxical situation. It’s clear we have an over abundance of soldiers ready to die. It’s either a plot hole, or the form is only difficult for people who are not entirely supportive of “democracy” and those who are are capable of having multiple children🤔 not sure we will ever get a concrete answer tho
