@RogetMusic I went in for another dive with some friends of mine a few days ago and offhandedly remarked when the main theme kicked in "boy that never gets old, does it?" My friends immediately agreed. To me that's the hallmark of a great piece of music, you can listen to it over and over and it'll never get boring, it'll always put you in the right mood and you discover new details in it every time you hear it. You really hit it out of the park with this one. edit: also I hadn't even noticed that the first part was in 5/4. Apparently I've listened to so much progressive rock and metal that the odd meter didn't throw me off 🙂

The theme being 5/4 is such robust thematic composition. A hype, noble, and absolutely EPIC theme being slightly off-kilter without overtly sounding so. An ingenious parallel to the propaganda-seeped fascism of Super Earth. The one measure of 6/4 trying to break through the madness, then finally breaking free in the second half of the song, but in a much more mournful tone. It's like America's arc of emotions of the Iraq War. A big FUCK YEAH before realizing...oh god. What actually happened here?

When you're listening to an orchestra, you may think that the conductor has a pretty easy job - just keep the beat, motion when some sections are supposed to come in etc. But when you look at a sheet like this, which they have on their stand and do read through, you realise they have tough job - especially since they can tell when someone is either out of tune or time!
