Spear? This thing should be called the eraser for how it erases bile titans. Amazing weapon now that the tracking is fixed. The only downside is that you have a pathetic number of shots, so you’ll be stealing supplies a lot. However if you line it up right, that’s four dead bile titans.

Fair trade since it's so powerful but I could see them buffing how many missiles you carry. It's not without drawback as short range shots tend to miss. Overall amazing improvement though

One of the ship upgrades makes it that you get full ammo for any support weapon stratagem, on a single supply pack pickup. I can 100% confirm that it does give full ammo. I consistently used the spear to destroy bot fabricators from across the map before this patch. If you get that ship upgrade though, the ammo economy gets fantastic.

The biggest problem me and my friend had with the spear was it’s ammo economy. Having only 4 shots definitely feels like a deal breaker of sorts, but with the new gunship patrols on the bot ends, it’s well worth it if you have a friend to supply you.

The ammo is a bit of an issue, it's a high risk high reward weapon because it can 1 shot heavies if they're facing the right direction

It’s good that they are aware..not being able to hit the fabricators sucks, but atleast the weapon is on the right tracks to being perfected..I think it’s tracking now is refreshing and actually makes me wanna try it again

As a spear main months before the patch, I am conflicted about these changes. I'm not used to NOT fighting the lock on mechanic. It's weird shelling out so much damage so easily. There was so much gratification when FINALLY getting it to work before the patch... But now it's just boop, reload, boop and it's so easy. When you're accustomed to a certain level of abuse, finding something functional, and even wholesome, is really freaking weird. 😂

Being able to even just resupply the mech (maybe like a backpack specifically for mechs) would be really dope. Only issue is the cool down if it breaks you're wasting two slots

What primary do you guys take with the spear into helldive vs bots ?

Ivs started running the plasma gun and a side weapon that can deal with smaller enemies 1-3 not grouped up, otherwise the plasma gun will usually deal with a horde. Stagger also helps for harder bots

Distance could play a factor, and there's a bug with Bot Fabricators where you can't lock on to it. Aside from that it should work. I was able to hit my shots

They say it in the patch notes: "The FAF-14 Spear targeting has been reworked and should now function much better. However it has lost the ability to target Automaton Spawners, this is not intended and will be fixed in the future."

oh lord i greatly dislike that the difficulty is hidden now. It makes it so hard to find a streamer playing the difficulty i want to watch. I can't tell if clips were done on the difficulty they claim now. That was a bad move.

Different trade offs, quasars great for unlimited ammo and auto cooling except when multiple bile titans and chargers spawn in, you either need the RR or the SPEAR to take them all down much quicker
