8:25 is exactly the reason I recommend leaving all your samples at the extraction (grabbing them up only when you are boarding the dropship immediately after). Shit happens and if you die and dropped the samples far from the dropship, good luck retrieving it. I also recommend doing this if you are raiding a base or going on a suicide mission, leave your samples with someone else or at some place away from danger..

Fun fact, the one to two shotting titans with the railgun isn't from using unsafe mode, it is from playing with a PS5 player. There is even a video up on youtube where a dude tests it solo as a PC player, tests it in a group with PC players, and then tests it in a group with a PS5 player. It only puts out this kind of damage when playing with PS5. I've seen a lot of people saying just use unsafe mode, or aim for the mouth when it is getting ready to spew, but this seems to be the actual cause.

Yup! It's like tossing a grenade into the flame spewer's mouth in Starship Troopers. The mouth is green when throwing up too so it means any explosives fired in there will do the trick. The rail gun just does high damage outright.

@@nates9105 Um... I think you missed the point of my post. The railgun only does good damage against titans when in a group with a PS5 player. It has nothing to do with hitting some sweet spot.

Played a few games last night where meteor showers actually cleaned up some bug/stalker hives for me

Have had a couple of games now where they cleared objectives for the group while we were nowhere near them, too. We've terminated illegal broadcasts without ever being in the same half of the map as them, killed a bile titan with them, and destroyed dropships under maintenance. Mate also watched them down a dropship delivering reinforcements, I wish I was watching that part of the fight.

Turns out they kill ANYTHING they hit. Eye of (Automaton) Sauron? Gone. Fortified Jammer? Gone. Dropship? Annihilated. More interestingly, the hits cause explosions that lure guards away from points of interest and bases they're normally defending.

Note on the Spear: it can lock onto and take out Automaton fabricators and laser cannons in one shot. And if you can lock onto a charger and hit it from the front from enough distance, that's one shot, too. Sometimes it'll even take out a bile titan in one. I know it's finicky, but against stationary targets (especially unaware ones), it's kind of incredible.

This has been happening since release. I'm not sure if they're not registering the hits properly, or there's armour shenanigans, or if they simply have enough HP to eat a pod. Dropping through the head kills them pretty reliably, but good luck doing that without power steering.

He's playing on console. For some reason the railgun does a lot more damage if a console player is hosting or just in your lobby. I think the devs nerfed the railgun before fully understanding how this happens and why it happens. There's a video of some guy testing it, and himself it took around 23 shots (PC, private game). But with his buddy on PS5 in the lobby or hosting it took 1 or 2.

@@derkaiser9881 Hmm, I play on console myself. I noticed the Railgun's shot at about 85% charge or less will ricochet off Heavy armor now and it's depressing to watch lol I have become a Spear main even though lock on is ass.

Railgun deals more damage in PS5 version of the game. It is confirmed by tests. Just pay attention that every single 'bile titan railgun one-shot' video is recorded on PS5

If you’re having trouble locking on with the spear in 3rd person, switching to 1st person usually helps.

Can confirm that a tank on top of you also works really well as a shield from a 500kg bomb.. you know in situations when a dropship decides your face looks like a good landing spot.

If you have issues with the spear not locking on go into FPS mode, it doesn't always help but it helped me make the lock-on fails rare instead of common.
