a game for no one is a game for no one and arrowhead keeps nerfing things based off popularity. once the people who love the game and are begging for a better direction leave, the glazers will leave too since they just like doing what is popular. then that last 7% of the remaining players will also disappear

I wish all good luck and fortune to Johan, Arrowhead and all game developers who are working with fundamentals, respect, and a sense of responsibility towards themselves, their work and their fans. I wish Helldivers becomes the greatest game ever simply because of all the important points Pilestedt spoke about and how much these points do make a great game/hobby. Finally Helldivers, Salute.

They forget that a game for no one is still a game for no one. Game is heading towards irrelevancy.
@lukeludwig10555 ай бұрын
After watching this, it seems Johan is a genuine and honest guy, with a good vision for the game. It seems that there is a separation between him and what the other devs are doing. This is made exceptionally obvious when the balance team (Alexus) completely destroys the “fantasy” of a certain playstyle because too many people are choosing that playstyle.

I'm amazed they did a whole talk and did not address this issue. And to say nothing of the person with their question at the very end saying the 500 kg bomb is 'so much fun' without being honest about how broken it is. Insane that this is being praised.

This is painful to read just a few months later, the game is on the brink of irrelevancy.
@cpttetris56455 ай бұрын
I get it that he wanted to focus on the positive sides, but it's kind of disingenuous to say that they are doing a live-service game right, when HD2 playercount has dropped from 200k to 30k-40k in a single month. Where have the players gone?
@eskeladder77515 ай бұрын
Exactly, Ive been holding on for the better part of the last month but even then i am getting absolutely tired of nothing good happening. Cant get any of my friends to play this game anymore as well. It was just 1 month ago that servers were still full with 400k players and now its almost a ghost town
@mckenleymason12125 ай бұрын
There's over 100k playing concurrently if you include PS5 players and PC players.
@artvandalleigh78945 ай бұрын
Player counts are rising, albeit slowly, following the PSN debacle. I don't think he's "focusing on the positive side" for any reason besides the fact that this isn't marketing; this is a presentation at a game developers conference.

This dude has absolutely no clue about why Helldivers 2 was as popular as it was. No clue. Not a single person thought they were buying some "realistic" game.

After watching that whole presentation and that's the conclusion you came to im convinced you have no idea what Helldivers is.

Truly a good take to making their game they have. However it does seem from the community member standpoint that the communication with developers is insufficient at times. Perhaps there should be some dev-blogs, lives and development videos coming from the team for the community to feel that devs are present and listening constantly not leaving players behind. The problem is more prevalent now as the community does a second outcry and doesnt understand the motives behind some changes or decisions

Well, there's a huge toxic community festered on KZbin about this game unfortunately. So called content creators talks all the stupid shit about the game and this effects peoples perception. You can see this on this video's comments. These moronic content creators play the game at the hardest difficulty and then complain everything about the game, but it's clear as day that you need to fail at those difficulties. They are not meant to be completed. You're the bad guy and an unimportant bad guy. Not a hero. If this doesn't appeal to you, maybe do not play the game, eh.
@xana39612 ай бұрын
Why would you make a game where the goal for every player is to lose? Why go through the effort of programming something that you don't want people to engage with?
@onerimeuse2 ай бұрын
@@xana3961because winning in this game is "mission complete". Not "surviving and extracting". Thst should be clear by the order and value of things in the win screen. But then, it should also be clear thst the intro is satire, the back of the box shoes a stratagem as the "over powered weapon", and that brainwashed highschoolers with 20 minutes of training aren't Spartans, they're cannon fodder. And yet, despite that, your team drill doesn't get it. The game is balanced around 6. 6 gives you 100% or everything after a mission. Everything after that is meant as alternative and progressively more difficult missions. Hell, difficulty 7 is very clearly named "suicide mission". But hey, again with the critical thinking stuff 😏
