This is cutting edge technology. Additive machining process. Can't see how this could get a thumbs down. Thanks for sharing. 👍

Thumbs down from sleeve manufacturers........

Greetings @@Baard2000: I'm hearing this is the new thing. I've seen demos of this CBC in action. It looks like a top notch process. While everyone is certainly entitled to their opinion, curiosity pokes at me to ask you why you feel negatively towards the technology? Have you experienced something that buyers should beware or is your statement just your bias?

@@avionicstechshop7664 I was just being very sarcastic....... I could imagine sleeve manufacturers would not like such a technique. But , to my knowledge now, applied in the right engine , mostly light petrol engines , it is of double benefit : cheaper to produce and less fuel consumption because of better sealing and lower friction. And also pretty long service life. If worn out.....the only 2 options are open : recoating , company in UK does that. Or put a sleeve in..... For diesel engines the coating bonds not good enough to prevent flaking off due to higher cylinder pressures and much heavier parts....... In some racing classes these type of coating is used to lower friction and increase bore an piston life ( keeping hp as high as possible during whole engine life)
