Fun fact: the original singer, Tony Jay, couldn't hit the final high note and asked composer Alan Menken to take it down. Alan said "NO" and made him take voice lessons until he could hit the note and sustain it. And here's Geoff, belting it and then saying "Nah, I'm going HIGHER!" I will never stop being amazed by his voice. Layne did this dark song justice with his arrangement.

Tony was the hooded figure that appeared. Voiced by Eli, and Tony just happened to be in the studio while they were filming. They got all 3 generations of baritones in one video!

@@ahacks7692 First of all, he’s put performing behind him. Probably wouldn’t have agreed to do it. But mostly, the vocals are prerecorded before they make the video. So Tony was a warm body able to stand in. Several others were discussed, including Kathy, but since Tony was there helping with the shoot, Geoff suggested him.

Geoff was the perfect lead for this song. The original was Tony Jay (also voice Shere Khan in various media and the assylum owner in Beauth and the Beast) and he had a deep voice too.
