i think its because the hangul for mamamoo is 마마무 and the 무 which should be moo is spelt mu instead. also a mu (무) is a radish, not a moo lol it was probably a mistake that you cant really blame them for

I honestly felt bad for the dad on the second concern. It must be uncomfortable that he uses honorific form to his sons, but I feel sorry that his sons felt so embarrassed about it that they had to come out on t.v. and call it a concern. His face just looked hurt every time the sons complained about him.

Wtf... I feel so bad for the dad in the second concern. Everyone pressured him so much. You can't force someone to act the way you want! The sons are so childish too. Why would someone prefer rough language over gentle and respectful talking? They say their dad created a wall between them, but they should be putting some efforts in to get closer and understand their father instead of complaining and demanding a different dad. I don't think it's ridiculous...maybe u should understand korean n their way of speaking, it's pretty hard for foreigners to understand based on subtitles only.. apparently they are not comfortable using honorifics among family or someone close..u can see by the MCs and audiences' reactions..it's juz awkward for them..the father thinks what he does makes the sons felt like friends, but the sons feeling otherwise..I feel bad for both parties..

Let not distracted from the real issue his son do not feel respected. This son in particular feels what he thinks, what he feels donot matter. It is not a issue of tone or matter of speaking that is secondary as you can see with the former concern you. Both fathers are being very selfish I'm not listening to the concerns of their children. No one is doubting their love for them but how they show their affection and care is an issue . So the father had to decide whether how they feel is more important than what did children feel; if their current desires I.e shopping or living their dreams through their children is more important than their children needs and desires. Their desire to feel loved, cared for and respected. In the case of second concern there has to be an ongoing coversation. He cannot just assumed thevreason behind what they are feeling but has to ask and ask again if he is unclear to avoid misunderstanding them. Personally I think it is sad that your children and wife resent you because you insist on doing something that isn't necessary and quite frankly culturally inappropriate. Again the matter isn't essentially about how he speaks or addresses his sons but if he shows that he cares what they think or feel. There is a big difference between telling someone to do or not something and asking if they want to do something with the ontent of respecting their wishes. You saw how the son of the first concern reacted when his father asked uf he wants to shopping. Just his father asking as if he cares how he feels and that he has an option although we all he doesn't and he mostly likely knows it as well but the thought and actually hearing it made him feel good. It woulb thebsame if the father had instead saying holid was crazy and telling him to go study which is basically yelling him your thoughts and feeling don't count but instead asked why and had a conversation about his plans for future would have been much better. That is what his sondesire that have an open and free relationship with their father. His sons can't even go to their for help since thwir father blames everything he considers 'bad'behavior on their mom. You tell me is that the kind of relationship anyone wants with their parents?

Some people really dont get the 2nd concern. Using honorofics really put up a wall between their relationships and it sounds awkward and mostly use for baby (todlers). If we try to look at the son's perspective, he's still growing up. Remember when you're in high school and you want to talk with your parents and wanting their acknowledgement of your maturity? It's the same for him. I just thought the problem is the dad who wouldnt be more open and sincere to listen to his son's concern, not the honorofics at all.

Using honorific all of the time in Korea seems to put up an invisible barrier between people. Kind of like keeping your distance from a stranger. To hear it all of the time from a close family member must seem really off-putting especially if you think that person is not being sincere when using it all the time (like in an argument, think of someone saying "with all due respect" constantly when you know they do not mean it). Years ago on the show Happy Together, SNSD members joked about Seohyun using it all the time with them and making them feel awkward. The Happy Together MC said it made Seohyun sound like a robot. They were all joking, but you could see there was some truth behind it.

I don't understand how people don't get the second concern? In asian cultures honorific speech is a bit more than just being polite, especially when it comes to the people close to you. It puts up a wall and it feels cold. Even friends don't use polite speech with each other. My opinion - first concern : The father is simply selfish and a father becomes a parent when they can have a relationship with his children, even though he is being strict. The second concern is more than using honorific language but its whether the father ready or willing to listen to his sons and not dimiss them or their feelings. Being ordered to forget about a dream or desire you have for the future hurts just as much as your asking if your crazy. To his son the added burden of honorific language is a joke. The language doesn't truly show respect. He is eighteen. His father can have an intelligent conversation with him and outlines the reasons why he thinks itsbabbad idea, help him explore ofher options and etc. But the fact he didn't listen and doesn't listen to them is the problem. I don't know about you but a 'friend' how is softspoken and doesn't curses at you but belittles or dismiss es your feelings and opinions us not a good friend. The kind of language used isn't the real problem it is about knowing that your feelings, thought and opinions will be respected as a young man; a person who is making plans for his future. It about knowing that whatever you think your father will not reject you or try to force his will on you because of your opinions which is essentially happening here except it's worst since he blames his wife and doesn't ask, or tries to fond out the reason why both of sons react to him . In the same way. If it was simply a habit than it is minor annoyance at that or a cute habit. But the factact he sees his sons as an alter ego along with the previous examples mentioned above seem to suggested otherwise.

Do you know how many people out there who are probably mute and its hard for them to express their love? you should be glad already that your father treats you like a friend and respect you and can even freaking talk to you ! if it's me, i will be glad to have a father like him. Hmm... I think the second concern is very confusing, especially with our cultural differences. Although I find it sweet that the father wanted to treat his children as equals and raise them to be polite, I can see how the family could find it irritating. For them, it causes an unapproachable father figure and I think it is wrong of him to take it out on the mom because of the way she talks, but I don't think it's enough to get embarrassed and resentful. I believe he should take in to consideration their opinions, but they should understand that he's trying to build something with them.

I think those boys at the end are just using their "friend". If they were true friends, they would understand that what they are doing is disrespectful. They should never invite themselves over. It's not their place. It's hypocritical that they say that they help "clean" the house when the boy said that they leave towels, and their clothes all over the floor. They're just saying that to cover their tracks and make it seem that they are like family. It cost money. Money that they will never come to appreciate. Judging by how careless and rude they are, I doubt they have jobs. I feel sorry for that boy. He's being used. If he has problems, I doubt they would help him. And as parents, it's hard for them to say no, even if it's uncomfortable. Those boys are also taking advantage of hard working parents.
