As a child I wanted to be a Concert Pianist, I had a father just like David, very emotionally abusive, critical of me and narcissistic. It seemed he was always in a competition with me, very jeolous. Instead of destroying me, he destroyed my ability and talent in Music. Been a real mystery to be honest, seems with David his father destoryed his sanity. Very sad.

I wish I knew David and his wonderful wife Gillian in person. I'm so happy they found each other in life. She's exactly what he needed to keep his musical side going and he's exactly what she needed to fulfill her heart. God Bless both of them 🙏🙌👏💜

What a great man, but what a marvelous woman is his wife. My God, what a wonderful woman. 🙏 (Not a fan of the astrology part, but she is an absolute gem of a human being.)

What and awesome show. After watching this, I realized what a wonderful job Mr. Rush did portraying him in Shine, both brilliant indeed!

I watched the film "Shine" again today, which is in my dvd collection. What a lovely man and his wife is incredible. What a talent he is and such a loving soul. I found this because I wanted to know how he is doing now and Im glad that he still plays and is happy.

I don't know if he still plays or if he is happy. He is 75 and his wife, Gillian, died last year at the age of 90.

What a loving man. The movie Shine is still one of the most beautiful movies I have ever seen. According to David himself Geoffrey rush did a fair portraite of him which is not the case in other Self-portraiting movies

Probablemente sí o no, quién sabe... excelente pianista en cualquier caso. Gracias a la película Shine, al libro, a todos los que nos lo dieron a conocer

Who knows what lyrical piece it is that David's playing on stage? Thanks, anyone.

Good question! Sounds like a folk song or Victorian song or a Liede? Your word lyrical is descriptive of it! The melody sounds something like Shenandoah.

@8:30 "motorbikeRay's" closed mind is surpassed. The foundation upon which this incredible relationship in this story (regarding Gillian's undisputable role) is based; falls beyond such tragic ignorance. Fortunately, David is beyond such infantile thinking.
@motorbikeray Жыл бұрын
By "nonsense" I'm referring to astrology, not their relationship.
@architect119 Жыл бұрын
@@motorbikeray Gillian's understanding of astrology, the nonsense your ignorance claims - is the foundation which allowed her to form the relationship. Without the nonsense, there would be no relationship.
