My sister and I send this to each other at least every five years or so. Back here today upon hearing her passing. Faerie tales and the many adaptations, but especially Shelley’s versions, had such a great impact on my childhood and shaping me as a person. I would’ve loved to have told her that in person, but I hope she receives this celestial thank you message. Rest in peace!

The fact that this fragile sweet women was cast in The Shining at all seems like a calculated bit of sadism on Kubrick's part. It looks, in hindsight, like envisaged the shoot as some kind of extended torture process where he'd grind her down to jelly and then shoot the results. DePalma got a similar vulnerable performance out of Sissy Spacek, but it felt empowered and controlled.

Came back to this iconic show after her unfortunate passing from yesterday. Never had a privilege to meet her but for the much I learned about, she was a very sweet and gentle lady. No wonder most people really loved her presence, bet that she was really that sweet grandma that would hug tighty and hear all her stories for hours. But this also a lesson for us: diabetes doesn't play with anyone, so let's also care ourselves and care for the others we love, especially your grandparents that you didn't see for a time. And I finish this message with something I've learned after my other personal loss: "Don't cry because is gone, Smile because it happened". Look at our Miss Duvall! She already made many kids happy thanks to Popeye and Faerie Tales Show. And in respect for her, let's also show her incredible works to many future children - I believe that now, Duvall is having a good rest and telling stories to the others angels on Heaven, but she's looking proud to any of us. And this the legacy she deserves ❤ R.I.P Miss Duvall. My childhood would never be the same without meeting Popeye and neither Faerie Tales (No wonder my favorite episode's Rapunzel).
