But it becomes less of a problem because I'm enjoying this and I have nothing else to do here at home so I think it is ok for me right now. Tony: Umm. I guess for me, it is kinda like, it is kinda distracting because we are only here at home so it is sometimes difficult to think that you are at work. So when I always see my bed it is like I really want to lay down but it is not allowed. Also, sometimes the internet is weak and I sometimes lose connection and then there's a heavy scene going on. And also, you're so focused but your neighbor's dog keeps on barking. So annoying. Those kinds of things. Inconveniences, there are a lot of inconveniences. Host: What was your relationship before hello stranger and now? Tony: Actually I don't know JC. It has only been Hi and Hello. Like I know of him but I never had a conversation with him. JC: At first, hi, oh, what Tony just said. It has only been hi and hello but we are now getting close. But I don't know if when we next meet, he will talk to me. Tony: Wow JC: I hope so hahahahaha. Actually, I don't want to mention, it is mostly... that... whatever, they just need to wait for it. Tony: The whole script is super cute though. Like it is fun to shoot most of the scenes because it is like cute scenes. Host: What is it like to work with petersen vargas JC: So smooth. It is like we were just friends in zoom. He is such a collaborator. Like when I have a scene where I can't do it, he helps me but there are times when I make changes and he listens to me. Like he listens to us like how we listen to him. Like it is so nice to have a director like that. He is kind. Tony: You know what, they are like a really quirky bunch of people. Like umm. Ahmm. Yeah I like working with them. A lot of them don't come from a mainstream, how do I say it. So they have a different way of doing things. Different ideas, different mindsets. So it is refreshing working with people like that you know. So I really like working with them. And I've been wanting to work with director petersen for a while. Host: Can you share how a typical shoot day is like Tony: Well you gotta wake up like 5am to get ready. JC: In promos, right? Tony: Yeah. So you have wake your ass off at 5am. Make sure you are ready. And like... JC: Because.... Tony: And like... Go ahead. JC: Because we are accustomed to go to set when we have tapings. In the location then the staff are the ones who fixes the setting. But in here, you are really the one who will be fixing it. All the background here. All the stuff so that you are prepared when it is time to shoot. Tony: Yeah for sure. There is not that many breaks as well. Because like that is the setup so it is not like when you are on set. Like after one scene, you go back. Like the staff are fixing the place for the next scene. Usually, it is seamless the whole day. And also we are running out of time, because there is a curfew, 10pm right? So before that, we have to be finished. Host: Why do you think many filipinos love watching bl shows Tony: Because it is exhilaration of romantic feelings. Because I notice, a lot of filipino like to live vicariously through the characters and the scenes that play out,in cinema and television. Like I have my own opinion on that but we come from a third world country so we have this so called mass hysteria where they live out their fantasies through these characters so that's why me and JC are there for. And now there's been a huge demand for queer characters to have a spotlight on the main stage. Not just the sidekick or the funny one. So I think it is really a nice time now. Like there is such a demand for it and people whether they want to be open minded or not are forced to be and forced to educate themselves. Because like people no longer want to tolerate ignorance anymore. We are in the kind of nice stage right now where we you know like if you are ignorant it is scary because you will get bashed. JC: Same with tony. You said it all. Host: Whats an advice you would like to give to the micos and xaviers of the world JC: Ummm. What I can say to Mico. I already said it in another interview. Because he is so fragile. But there is nothing bad about being fragile. I learned more from Mico like he is the one giving me advice. Like when I act.. Like when I read the script, I learned so much from him. So I'm proud that I portrayed such character. Tony: For xavier, honestly. You know what, he is such a great guy. So openminded and I really think that his core as person that he is a really kind guy. You know but... If I had an advice for him. Maybe to just listen to your gut instinct and to follow what his heart is telling him. As long as you are jot hurting somebody else and you are doing what is best for yourself. When JC said that he's learning a lot from Mico, like Mico is the one giving him tips and advice not to be marupok and not to fall agad kay Xavier, in real life which is kay Tony. Kasi it would end up hurting himself in the end din lang like what happened to Mico in Episode 6. Like there has to be a sense or barrier or protection to guard our hearts and emotions din kasi, para di masyadong masaktan sa huli. I think he learned this from Mico and he's trying to apply this to himself na wag na din lang mafall agad kay Tony in real life. Btw, There was a promotional video of Black Sheep where Tony said that he has a personality na madali sya matauhan, i think he's implying about the times na parang mahuhulog na rin sya kay JC, and that's how strong he is as an individual and kung gaano nya vinavalue, nirerespeto at minamahal yung sarili nya which is good, mahalagang mahal natin yung sarili natin muna. Sana all ganun ka strong. Hindi marupok para di masaktan sa huli! Guilty din ako sa pagiging marupok eh, but I'm trying not to like Tony. I guess for me, it is kinda like, it is kinda distracting because we are only here at home so it is sometimes difficult to think that you are at work. So when I always see my bed it is like I really want to lay down but it is not allowed. Also, sometimes the internet is weak and I sometimes lose connection and then there's a heavy scene going on. And also, you're so focused but your neighbor's dog keeps on barking. So annoying. Those kinds of things. Inconveniences, there are a lot of inconveniences. Host: What was your relationship before hello stranger and now? Tony: Actually I don't know JC. It has only been Hi and Hello. Like I know of him but I never had a conversation with him. He is such a collaborator. Like when I have a scene where I can't do it, he helps me but there are times when I make changes and he listens to me. Like he listens to us like how we listen to him. Like it is so nice to have a director like that. He is kind. Tony: You know what, they are like a really quirky bunch of people. Like umm. Ahmm. Yeah I like working with them. A lot of them don't come from a mainstream, how do I say it. So they have a different way of doing things. Different ideas, different mindsets. So it is refreshing working with people like that you know. So I really like working with them. And I've been wanting to work with director petersen for a while. Host: Can you share how a typical shoot day is like Tony: Well you gotta wake up like 5am to get ready. JC: In promos, right? Tony: Yeah. So you have wake your ass off at 5am. Make sure you are ready. And like... JC: Because.... Tony: And like... Go ahead. JC: Because we are accustomed to go to set when we have tapings. In the location then the staff are the ones who fixes the setting. But in here, you are really the one who will be fixing it. All the background here. All the stuff so that you are prepared when it is time to shoot. Tony: Yeah for sure. There is not that many breaks as well. Because like that is the setup so it is not like when you are on set. Like after one scene, you go back. Like the staff are fixing the place for the next scene. Usually, it is seamless the whole day. And also we are running out of time, because there is a curfew, 10pm right? So before that, we have to be finished. Host: Why do you think many filipinos love watching bl shows Tony: Because it is exhilaration of romantic feelings. Because I notice, a lot of filipino like to live vicariously through the characters and the scenes that play out,in cinema and television. Like I have my own opinion on that but we come from a third world country so we have this so called mass hysteria where they live out their fantasies through these characters so that's why me and JC are there for. And now there's been a huge demand for queer characters to have a spotlight on the main stage. Not just the sidekick or the funny one. So I think it is really a nice time now. Like there is such a demand for it and people whether they want to be open minded or not are forced to be and forced to educate themselves. Because like people no longer want to tolerate ignorance anymore. We are in the kind of nice stage right now where we you know like if you are ignorant it is scary because you will get bashed. JC: Same with tony. You said it all. Host: Whats an advice you would like to give to the micos and xaviers of the world JC: Ummm. What I can say to Mico. I already said it in another interview. Because he is so fragile. But there is nothing bad about being fragile. I learned more from Mico like he is the one giving me advice. Like when I act.. Like when I read the script, I learned so much from him. So I'm proud that I portrayed such character. Tony: For xavier, honestly. You know what, he is such a great guy. So openminded and I really think that his core as person that he is a really kind guy. You know but... If I had an advice for him. Maybe to just listen to your gut instinct and to follow what his heart is telling him. As long as you are jot hurting somebody else and you are doing what is best for yourself. One of Tony's answers was definitely a "spoiler". Xavier do love Mico, but makikita natin sa mga susunod na episodes na e-de-decline niya ang love ni Mico sa kanya. Based doon sa answer niya, "talagang paiiyakin niya si Mico". If I were the director, lalagyan ko ng side music sa isa sa mga scense ni Xavier "Let Her Go" para malaman niya na pinakawalan niya ang taong alam niya, deep inside his heart na "mahal na mahal niya si Mico" at iiyakan niya ito ng sobra-sobra na magmamakaawa siya na mahalin siya ulit.
