i also love how it is so informal. like he jumps down and says: "hello, how are ya." very casually like they are friends. ("wie gehts denn so?" is not something you would normally say in a formal setting because it implies the informal form of "you") don't know if the notion of inappropriateness came across in the other languages, since I only know English German and Spanish but I really like this translation.

There are also Indonesian, Malay, and Tagalog dubs of the six Star Wars films as well (not sure if the sequels are dubbed because I don't like those.) xD I have "A New Hope" in Indonesian, 1-6 in Malay, and "Empire Strikes Back" in Tagalog. Also, the prequels and original trilogy got new Brazilian Portuguese dubs in 2015. These were only shown on TV though.

DAMN, I wish I knew earlier :( I thought only the 9th movie had dubs in Indonesian & Malay... I knew about the Brazilian case though, but I couldn't find it anywhere so I gave up. For now I'm not collecting the dubs of the original trilogy, nor the other prequels. However, I'll let you know if I need your help any time soon! I'm not gonna remake the multilanguages I've already published, but I'm working on a new one now (from the 3rd movie: ROTS), so if you helped me with the Malay dub (or even just the fragment I need, your choice) I'd be _really really_ delighted :')

Doesn't really matter how it's translated elsewhere (though it's wrong there, too... probably). It should be actually translated as "No co tam?", or at the very least "Witam!", because that's what it means in that context. And I never met anyone who would say it like in the translation. It would be badass if they used "Siemka!", but I guess Disney has some unfunny rules on translations. Still, could be worse - they could run that whole script through Google Translate. Not that it never ever happened...

@@voidseeker4394 I believe it's less about Hungarian being very unique, and more about most European languages having the same roots. Europe can be summed up as a mixture of Germanic and Romance languages, with varying influence on each other (e.g. English is a Germanic language with a very heavily Romance based vocabulary). Hungarian just happened to come from very far in Asia, and happened to keep most of its integrity through the ages (not all, though).

Я гадаю, що краще б було - "Здоровеньки були!", та більш стереотипно, саме тому комічно, але голо Ґрівуса у нас найкумедніший!

Mexican here. it is funny to see how both spanish dubbings have way different wordings. Here is a sort of transcription: SPAIN: "how's it going?", "General Kenobi... you are very daring. DEATH TO HIM!" (referring to Obi in formal second person way) LATAM: "Hello to everyone", "General Kenobi... it is true that you are really brave. KILL HIM!" (referring to Obi in neutral third person way)

Obi: "Hallå där!" Grievous: "General Kenobi... Du är en modig en... Döda honom!" Thats what it would be in swedish if they were to dub the movie.
