I would highly recommend the Courageous Tune tripod on Heavenly Tune. The attack speed from Though Tune is nice, but the CT tripod its broken, its 35% power reduction on the boss for the whole raid, not just your party. Specially when doing prog or to make any raid less painful overall. It should be the first option on that skill, Though Tune to me is the tripod you use if you're overgearing content or speedrunning raids/guardians. The skill itself already gives 8% atk speed, the extra 8% from the tripod is overkill to me.

I feel It is great tripod indeed when you're going at item level, like, G4 Thaemine. Definitely worth a mention, thanks for the feedback!

But when and why play Bard? It's difficult to counter, it takes ages to build meter, it doesn't stagger, it doesn't cleanse, it's difficult to apply shields... Yet I see that statics prefer bards over other supports for some reason.

I like my bard overall. If I could go back, I'd probably have my artist up or paladin. Bard takes a bit more work and finesse and contributes a good amount. The lack of cleanse is annoying... but I think Bard is the top pick in Thaemine because of Guardian Tune. The ability to block an upcoming debuff, especially on gate 4, is invaluable.
