I constantly say Azealia Banks was the biggest music industry disappointment of the decade. Beautiful girl. Talented rapper. Unique singing voice. Strong creative vision. 212 still sounds fresh today. I love ‘Luxury’ too. She was the future. It’s a shame she got in her own way and became more famous for her beefs than her music.

honestly azealia probably dodged a bullet. look how doja cat is suffering cause of her label "deal." I think azealias chaotic personality saved her from being trapped and used in the music industry. her music which is independently dropped is such good quality and its all from her--- lyrics, sound, voice, everything, she is a true artists and I think the music industry, which is so commercialized, is threatened by people with actual talent

After watching this it’s very clear that very little if any of your research came from actually listening to her. If you listen to her in interviews she pretty much addresses everything you’re putting on her back. I was a person that didn’t like her couldn’t separate the artist from the music but I just came across a few of her interviews over the years and grew to admire her. She’s actually very well spoken and intelligent her opinions are just often not popular and she has a very explicit way of delivering. Y’all have given Kanye and 50 passes, praise even for most of the stuff you’re trying to shame her for.

Two things can exist at once. Yes, Banks has a bad reputation for her outlandish behavior online. She has said some very vicious and hateful things to many people including marginalized groups. However, the industry was never invested in Banks as the creative genius she is. She got dropped from her labels not because of her Twitter rants but because they didn’t know how to market her to the mainstream or categorize her. Banks is one of if not the most creative and unorthodox female rapper we’ve had in like the last 20 years (yes, Banks is Nicki’s peer when it comes to being a lyricist). The girl literally pushed aqua-pop, witch-hop, and house-rap in the rap game, that’s why her label wanted to model her into a top 40 artist. She’s way to talented for the average music consumer who rely on cheap, catchy, bubblegum hooks to make for a great song. All that say is, Bank’s antics isn’t the only reason for her downfall. The labels didn’t believe in her anyway because of her creative style. This industry is trash and Banks is too good for them.

She is not some light skin rapper with a bbl tapping on trap beats. CupcakKe, Asian Doll and Flo milli all have experienced the same thing. It’s not far fetched for an talented artist to spaz because they don’t for the image of what will sell. Y’all never gave her music a change and it shows with comments like these girl Nicki has addressed all rap beef and accusations but the Azealia bank’s situation.
@davidross6782

Exactly!! Love your comment. She raps but not to the tune of the hip-hop rap industry at that time. Her production was insanely different than what was made when she debuted (I've always side-eyed Truffle Butter lol). She can do the cookie cutter rap sound, but it's not her first gear. She knew and it's evident she was a better artist and lyricist than most of her significant cohorts who came out around the same time. If labels knew how to market her and records were selling, she wouldn't have suffered as much career wise. However, it was always going to be a rocky road - young, talented af, no filter...

@@davidross6782 Banks didn’t want to be boxed in as a radio rapper. She’s way to creative. I remember back in 2012, she performed at summer jam and they threw a bottle at her when she performed “ATM Jam”. Bank’s outfit was giving Mary Poppins X Little Bo Peep realness. I was just talking about this! 👏🏾 People love saying the way she acts is the reason why her career isn’t where it should be, but I say it’s cause she’s a woman and a dark skinned woman at that because Kanye has said and done worse but, gets his flowers, NBA young boy literally assaulted Jania Michelle on camera, Kodak literally has r*pe charges, lil Wayne is colourist and the list goes on but, my girl is constantly under scrutiny and not getting her flowers! While her male counterparts do way worse and have less accountability and exceeded her in their careers, it boggles me.

I do wish though she’d be cut off social and only be let loose on the art and scheduled interviews…she’d be understood more. What she said about Zayn is true but she dressed it in anti-Muslim and anti LGBT language and thought. I don’t think she’s lying on Rihanna, Lana nor Iggy Azealia nor Cardi…truths were tweeted or posted on IG but she does go for the jugular and that what makes it difficult for many to listen to what she’s actually saying, said hatefully. Azealia Banks is legit one of the most talented female rappers. She’s a textbook example of twitter fingers. She literally burned every bridge possible and she only has herself to blame. She should have had a publicist and social media manager since day one.

i think you said it right. she needs help. the way America sat up here like "shes so talented she burned her own bridges" "she should focus on her music" just sounds like a bunch of bots talking back and forth. i think its crazy how the same parroted comments get tons of likes but then comments that keep it the realest get the less likes. these people sat up here talking about shes problematic meanwhile they love someone to bash especially when that person isn't doing so well. azealia banks needs to take time to discover herself as a person and she needs to work on her mental health. its not cool to bash someone who has obvious mental health problems. people wanna be like free britney and all this shit like they didn't laugh at her too. tf is going on with our society

@@bluehue6653 At the end of the day these are all human beings and fame magnifies the worst traits in people. Azealia is very insecure about certain things I wish she wasn't because her style is truly ahead of its time. Just look up her soundtrack and the potential is there. However there is a business side of this as well which she has not learned about. There's some truth to what the critics are saying.
@bluehue6653
@bluehue6653 Жыл бұрын
@@serenadesilhout i agree with most of that. i don't think fame effects everyone the same way. and i also don't think fame had anything to do with her getting on social media and making longwinded (but funny) rants. she came out and said how her mom was and i think her mom not being a mom contributed a lot to azealia banks self image. azealia said her mom would tear her down and that's where she learned it from. again, i think she needed to take time and rediscover herself and develop herself as a woman outside of what her toxic mom taught her. no amount of pr and control from the label could help her. they could have snatched her phone like they do some artists but azealia is not the kind of person who could be contained. she is very outspoken and very opinioned and her attacks are probably backed with the rage she felt inside growing up. so she would have been destructive anyway. whether it was from showing out on live tv or getting into drugs. somewhere the real her would have surfaced through cuz that's who azealia banks was at that time. the artists who do let the industry handle everything for them also run into the same problem. there's a reason so many of these artists have serious problems with drugs. there's so many of them who have stories about household issues that it almost makes you think that the industry loves these types of people maybe because they're easily controllable. and that's definitely why drugs are passed around. if you keep people tired with little eat in their system and pumped up with drugs of any kind that person starts to lose a lot of who they are cuz they're simply too out of it to focus. i do think some people handle their fame better and some people don't let pressures drive them to do things they don't want to do. i don't think anyone is doubting there's truth to what critics were saying either cuz azealia banks was the one who got on live and told us lmao. but yeah I still have strong opinions about how the people viewed azealia banks cuz they were wrong for how they jumped on the trendy train of hurling the word "problematic" around everywhere. its weird to me because people don't realize when they start sounding just like the media. anyways stay blessed and thanks for speaking about her mental health cuz i think we shouldn't be shredding people with mental health issues. doing so only highlights the fact that we have a huge crisis surrounding mental health and has become apparent that no one quite knows how to resolve it fully. and that needs to be addressed at some point.
