Andrew Lamositele-Brown, a former leader of the Hells Angels motorcycle club in Melbourne, aged 40, has been convicted of the murder of Petau Petau, a prospect of the Hells Angels South Auckland chapter. This case, referred to as the "Boxing Day 2021 Flat Bush homicide," concluded with a guilty verdict in a jury trial held at the Auckland High Court last month.
Lamositele-Brown, claimed that the fatal shooting had been an accident, asserting that he unintentionally discharged a handgun while showing it to the victim. However, the jury at the High Court in Auckland swiftly rejected this claim, delivering a guilty verdict.
The story begins on Christmas Day in 2021 when Lamositele-Brown, a member of the Hells Angels, dropped off his family at a relative's home before heading to an undisclosed location. It was there that he received three items that would later play pivotal roles in the tragic incident: a bottle of Hennessy Cognac, a handgun that needed to be disposed urgently, and a purse filled with bullets.
