I don't know much about cooking and haven't actually full episode so do correct me if I'm wrong but from the look of things they told her to space the streaks, use the grill to mark them, and finish them in the oven. But she wanted to finished them on the grill, thus, they were either undercook or overcook and making the red team fall behind to the point the blue team had to save them.

I would have loved to have had that kind of treatment when I got off of deployment in the Air Force. As it was, I was just grateful to step off the plane back to my home and remembering those who did not make it home with us. But respect for the Marine Sergeant who returned, he deserved his homecoming as every service member who returned did and still does. Many of us returned home and gave our best. But some gave it all. Those are the one we truly remember. So for them, all the thanks. You will never be forgotten.

Staff Sergeant James' homecoming service was a blue team masterclass it was pretty much faultless from gun to tape only issue was Jim getting overwhelmed on meat due to the surf n turf being extremely popular. As for the red team quite the opposite and it was all thanks to Tek falling apart on meat undercooking and burning steaks and forgetting a burger order. Amanda undercooking a lobster order was the exclamation point on a miserable night for the women. Tek was the obvious choice for elimination after that disasterclass
