From what I recall, the dev had this problem with Spec Ops : The Line. There used to be an "Evacuation Ending" around midway to the game, but most test player used this option (Evacuate from a war torn city in a middle of the desert), and so most of those test players didn't saw the endings at the very end of the game. So the devs took this ending out.

@@ChainsawAxis i actually playtested it. from the results, during playtesting, 76.3% of the playtesters discovered and played that ending. Since the ending was so common, it had to be removed so that the game could actually finish its story.

Man, I kept expecting some kind of twist for ending three but they actually let you shack up up with Lilith. I guess if you like women that are tall, spooky and vaguely demonic it's a pretty happy ending overall (world-conquering progeny aside).

Ey, Helltown! I've seen gameplay of this game waaaay back. I remember it as this Silent Hill-esque game that is a bit confusing on the plot element. Nice to see it get a "Revival"(badum tss!) and addition/improvements to the gameplay and story. That said *SPOILERS* I kinda miss the og giant skeleton/corpse-esque design of whatever that was chained up was.

I really liked this, Helltown was already a fantastic game on its own and although the graphics are slightly improved in this one, I really didn’t think it needed it tbh. The transition screens where it takes you to the next chapter were a downgrade from the original imo, but it’s just a nitpick lol. Overall I was still kinda confused whether it’s supposed to be just a remake or a sequel cause the people in town talk about the last postman like you’re supposed to be the guy who comes in after the original unless I’m mistaken, but also everyone from the first game is still around including Neil that died in the first game before they killed him too so idk? Great game thanks for covering this revival :)

It's a nice, fairly standard spooky story until it goes into pretty ambitious territory! The netherworld power struggles are an interesting twist and the moves into new areas are very strong, especially "swimming down" etc. It's just that there's so much running around and avoiding monsters and do these three things and find all these things (how on earth do you know when you have all the runes!) I appreciated someone else playing it lol. I think I might not go through it all myself. Thought the stone monument called "Lilith" was going to be a new being though, as I presumed embracing the villain would just involve not running away. Ambitious extensions though!
