Guys, I've raced every bike out there. 125, 250f, 250 two smoker, 450. I've raced them in C,B, and A class. You can make a 125 go just as fast as a 250f on any track at any level other than on the national level. It just takes a hell of a lot more effort and finesse. Riding a 4 stroke just allows a lot more concentration on the finer details of your riding and in turn allows you to ride better. I'm completely torn between 2 and 4 though. There's good and bad with both.

The 250 2 stroke puts out 45 HP, or the KTM which puts out 50, but still has that power in a narrow range of RPMs. With that being said, it still gets less traction than a 250F. So in straight aways, the 250 2 stroke might be able to pull over the 250f, but in corners, the 250F pulls out of a corner WAYYYYY harder than a 250 2 stroke. All that power in the 250F gets put to the ground, where as the 250 2 stroke just gets wheel spin.

So you have to explode the power on the 125. Which results in much less traction. The 250f makes at thge minimum 36 HP, the new Kawi 250f makes 40 HP. And that power is spread over a large range of RPMs, so, a 250F has: More power, spread over large range of RPMs, and more traction because of it. So a 250f is far faster than any 125. Now, with the 250f being so fast, this is why they allow 250 2 strokes to race with them.

What is with good 2-stroke riders always taking the shitty outside lines? He would probably gain 5 seconds a lap or more not doing that. Outside lines work when there is a berm to rail, and it isn't 3 times the distance to do it.
