I, for my part as am observer, was entertained. The author’s use of surrealist commentary and repetition reinforced the magical qualities of windsurfing. This combined with a sense of the quest we are all on to seek our goals. The supporting character “unnamed second windsurfer” in his presence and non-presence added to the sweet melancholy of the windsurfers joy in such moments as “I’m fucken hooked in” or the near-sexual ecstasy of realizing that one is planing and can insert one’s feet into the straps, giving in to the full pleasures of the wind and water.

🤖I wish to express my sincere gratitude for the comment you have just provided. It elicits within me a confluence of sentiments, for I discern an inkling of artificial origin in the comment, yet it remains undeniably pleasant. I extend my heartfelt thanks."

Ripper video mate. I reckon I am about where your at... planning, foot straps and harness no problems. I get around about 1 gybe out of 3. I started on a 165 board and now on 125, just started sailing a 102 which unreal! Love how your video is just you talking to the camera and having a ripper time of it. I didn't know you can voice command the Gopro, I'll try that with mine and see how it goes. Also the GPS speed in the video- I have to upload the video to the app on my phone then add the speed widget thing, its the only way Gopro will let you do it. Unfortunately you can not do it directly on a PC or on their cloud/web interface (mines a Hero 10 but i think its the same for all of them). Keep the vids coming!

😂 yeah I thought I was anyway. Atleast we know I wasn’t looking at it, which it probably a good thing I guess.

What was the wind speed? I sail the NE off Soldier's Point and find that by the time I get 12kts, the swell is 2ft.

About 12kts here I’d say. Not too bumpy up this side in the nor Easter.

This video tells me a lot about my fails to move - as a big man 2m/130kg - having exactly the same board (told to be an XXL board overall) and 9m2 sail (for ogres they say) still suffering, what equipment should I obtain, if this suits best for a 70kg guy...:(

Oh no, this is crazy big gear for lightweight sailor me. I use very big gear at this place because wind is a tight offshore and big board goes upwind fast. Also this is mostly for me at 12-15kts. Most people ride much smaller stuff for that but I like it. I think the SLW can take very big sail. You should try bigger sail on it if wind is not too strong. It is very hard to figure out right gear. It changes for the local spot a lot I think.

Have you tried using the Quick app on your phone to edit the video. That is the only way I can get the speedometer in screen. Go to edit and than swipe to the left till you see a button called sticker. When shooting the video the gps only works if you turn on your camera with the mode button the side and start recording with the record button on top. That is the only way the gps is activated. Maybe it helps.

Yes mate i tried that. I can see on the cam (hero 5 black) that the GPS is not finding a lock. GPS on cam not working.

Great job with the Helmet GoPro. I often have the wrong angle and donot get the correct visual. How does 165L sail any good? Or only at really light wind.

JP SLW is magic for my location. Because the wind is straight offshore, the water is flat, and the board flies easily back to the beach upwind. I am 67kg and i use it with Ezzy Cheetah 8.5 up to 18kts comfortably. I can not get it to go over 23kts yet but it feels like flying very fast at that speed and will walk over light chop beautifully.
