Ooooh neat, so that's why when I re-did the game a couple of days ago, his facial expressions were a lot more subtle. Like, now, when you're in Exultia and King Novic manifests, the Slayer looks clearly moved, almost sad. When I played with the Helmetless Mod during summer he just looked... well, his usual stern, angry glaring face. He also looks silghtly annoyed when the Khan Maykr talk to him after meeting the two Hell Priests.

Dude probably wasn’t super stressed all the time. Had an uncountable number of years to vibe as a gumball and disembodied voice to roam the cosmos and whisper sweet nothings to the Maykrs so that he could destroy them. If you were a ghost and you got a new version of your body, I doubt it’d be all that wrinkly or damaged.

When Dark Lord said : "Aten me," i think that maybe a hint that the next Doom sequel will be influenced by Egyptian variants. Since Aten means "Disc of the Sun", could mean by Davoth "May the Sun shine on me," he could be associated with the formless Deity known as Aten or possibly Ra.

Doom starts going full-on God of War/Smite, as he starts slaying deities from other cultures? Interesting... Midway was intending to do something similar with Doom 64, but from what I understand, id Software didn't want them making any drastic changes/additions to the mythos, so Midway's idea to explore Hell from the lens of multiple different cultures, like a level that resembles ancient Aztec architecture, had to be scrapped.

It was easy so newcomers or people who haven’t played in a long time will find the levels easy, unlike TAG1 where only the best of the best could prosper. If you want difficulty, wait for master levels or get the modded ones.

I know I wasn't the only one hoping that the final boss would be structured as a 1v1 deathmatch against an AI opponent, which would serve as the foundation for an actual DeathMatch mode later down the line. Remember in Quake III, when you fought Doomguy?

It's because the default helmet is "baked" into the animation. As in the default helmet appears for that one shot regardless of what skin you're wearing My guess is they ran out of time to fix it before release

Apparently they didn’t have time to do everything they wanted to do thanks to covid and the unshakable “year one” deadline. We still have doom eternal content to look forward to through master levels so maybe we will get another dlc pack of some kind

I miss the Biblical stuff. There was a church in Hell, the Tower of Babel, even The Spear of Destiny is out there somewhere (Wolfenstein). Going back on it feels kinda back-stabby to the original writer, Sandy Petersen, and starts raising more questions they probably weren't prepared to answer. I mean, what do crosses mean in this universe, now? The closest explanation we got is that they're the shape used for makyr vending machines that dispense runes. So, why have demons been drawing upside-down, crudely-drawn versions of these things everywhere? Hugo should've put this "We were wrong; it was aliens and mutants and stuff" shtick in a new IP. These ideas aren't inherently-bad on paper, but feel really inappropriate for the pseudo-biblical sci-fi campy pulp fiction style Doom was previously known for. "The Devil" was the true creator of the universe all along? Feels more like something meant for Darksiders than Doom.
