HELP!!!!!! BMW Z4 ROUGH IDLE

Change cam sensors, I did that for a friend and it was good . And check idle control valve

Hey my z4 is doing the same thing did you ever find out what it was

Clean the idle control valve. Might be stuck with carbon built up or misfires due to bad coil.

Raoul Crosato , not yet. I already changed the gas house (iddle control valve) but it came back. I called The national bmw company in the Netherlands and They advised me to update the software ecu. So thats the next step. I found a story on the bmw z4 forum with a simular problem and the owner did this also. The problem was solved. An extra appearance when i got the iddle problem is that my gaspedal is not working . I think that iT is disabled by the motor management system, because of false values . Maybe iT is solved with a bmw software update So i keep you informed.

Yesterday my z4 picked up from my garage. The software update is done.. Control unit determined : MS45.0 There is revised software for this control unit. Basic number 7527730 updates to 7561380 Program number 7529208 updates to 7561458 The update software warned for a problem . If an software error occurs, you have to program the control unit again. But there was no error. The new updates are registerd now on my chassisnumber from my Z4. Now testing if the problem is solved. There has been much efford en research done by myself for this problem and small inconviniance. but when the rough iddle happens it is irritating. I keep you informed

Anyone have an idea what could be causing my Z4 to idle this way?? It is a 2003, 2.5, automatic.. Thomas
