I agree about the poor cat - cats don't belong on chains! As far as the living conditions - they may look like they are in perfect condition, but they may not be. They are 70 years old and in that part of their country, it is hard living. When you ache and some days it is hard to move, little things are ignored, they add up and the next thing you know, it's a huge mess.

The only part I saw that was bad was the kitchen,, I am almost that old and we cannot move furniture to clean behind it and can't climb up to clean the tops. If you were that old, working everyday and caring for four kids, what would your house look like?

It's illuminating how age is perceived in different cultures. I'm 73 and just painted my ceiling and walls. The ceiling is 12ft high! But, well done. I hope they're able to maintain what you've achieved.

I don’t understand why the cat is on a heavy chain in the house. It’s a very uncomfortable feeling seeing it helpless like that. I can understand why they aren’t able to improve the situation, but I can’t understand when they are able bodied not keeping it clean. If they weren’t able bodied I could see the house getting so dirty, but they seem to move around pretty well.

I was startled by that as well. I think at the very beginning, you can see the cat moving around. We don't know all the background, let's give them the benefit of doubt. I'm sure they don't mistreat their animals, they don't look emaciated, and the cat is surely needed for pest control.

I am an American, so I might get the name of the tools different than in Vietnam. The first vessel is a mortar usually used with some type of pestle to grind grains, and spices into a powder. The second, is a hand plow used to making rows for planting in a small garden. The third, I think is a hole punch for planting? and the Forth, is a weight scale for measuring small items often used at markets with selling vegetables, spices, etc. I hope I answered what they were correctly. If there are mouse dropping every where, then why is the kitty chained up?? They are good mousers. If they are taking care of grandchildren, mouse droppings are terrible for the kids to be around. I wonder why the parents didn't take their kids with them instead of leaving them with their poor elderly parents. I feel so bad for them. You did an amazing job on this transformation guys.
